It may not have been a complete month in DOND terms, but it certainly provided some memorable moments, picking up where it left off before the summer break.

Rossano started things off in style by standing up to the Banker's poor offers and going all the way for £35,000. The next five contestants could all claim victories of sorts over the Banker as they sold low value boxes for much more than their value, even if some of them could have got more by dealing at a different point.

The Banker certainly got his revenge in week 2 - Brian provided great entertainment but missed out on £100,000, as he dealt for a penny short of £20k - then advice king Alan settled for £9,250 but could have had £35k. Joan beat the Banker in style by selling the 1p box for £30,000, but then the luck really ran out and Vicky and Claire left with low amounts - Vicky making the second lowest ever deal for £2.15.

Then came the start of the battle of the sexes, which has generated mixed feelings but you can't really argue with the games. Alex beat the Banker for £12,500 before Jon made the best end-game swap ever to take home £50,000. But Daniel surpassed even that the following day, with one of the most remarkable boards ever, leaving the entire power 5 to the last 6 and the top 4 as the last 4 boxes. He went away with £75,000.

Stevie went too soon and missed out on a possible £100,000, but Norman was another big character in the chair who overcame a shaky start to make a perfectly timed deal for £15,000. The month ended on a low note with Lee's game which never really got going, and he left with just £50.

So on the whole, a memorable month - and if you combine July and August into one complete month it's surely up there with any past month in terms of classic games, a real turnaround from the dismal luck and extreme caution we saw in the spring.

I think it's been a pretty good month. yes there were three disappointing trainwrecks but most of the other games were thoroughly decent.
I've been quite enjoying DOND although this battle of the sexes gimmick was not really needed!
The average win has been a respectable £21,777.60.

Good month, IMO. Lets hope September lives up to it.

Excellent month I thought. Plenty of decent wins, lots of tense and exciting games, NO 3rd offer deals, and just a few trainwrecks which thanfully the contestants took well.

In fact, probably the best month since I've been watching!

Weren't you watching in January? There were hardly any blue wins and no third offer deals then.

The show had started to dip a bit in terms of games in June as a lot of people were having bad games, but it picked up and by the time the show went on its summer break, we were on a high note, with Lynn, Maria, Igor and Asim all providing memorable shows.

Upon returning from its break, the new-set DOND didn't disappoint as we had more memorable games - which have been nicely summed up by Power5, so I won't do it again - but I think this month has had something that appeals to everyone - perfect deals, a comedy deal, a few trainwrecks, huge wins, low wins, funny games and funny characters.

Roll on September! Hope it's just as good as August...

Amazing month for the show! It lived up to the promise of July and there's been some real corkers of games. When you've got good contestants coupled with good games you can't go wrong!

Hope September continues the trend, in a few weeks I'll have a show on my birthday for the first time ever!
