Apparently there was a DOND reunion in Wakefield this week; Igor was amongst those present.

He must not want those pints... ;)

I'm personally surprised our Suez didn't know about it.

I only found out coz I have internet buddies over there are they immediately recognised Igor because he was doing his somersaults in the street!

Geordie doesn't get invites to reunions, and even if he did, he assures me he wouldn't go to one, which is no doubt good news for people like Spartacus. He does still correspond with some former contestants, but his life has moved on from the show, which is quite understandable really - you can't live off the back of the show forever. Geordie's brief television career is well and truly over. He's famous enough in Inverness anyway without seeking attention as a former DOND contestant!

If I was a contestant I don't think I'd bother with all these reunions either. If Igor really wants the free beers, all he has to do is knock on the door of the main council building (the 'Town House') right in the centre of Inverness next to the Tourist Information Centre and ask to see the Events & Promotions Officer, and they'll sort him out right away! ;)

I think I might have given off the wrong message.

I simply put this coz I thought he owed him a couple of pints, is all!

Of course you would put gameshow fame behind you!

Lol, i think this is a bit strange... a reunion is for all of us to get together to see each other again as we all live so far apart, not for some strange notion of milking this so called 'fame'. hence it was not widely shouted about as it was for us to see each other and catch up privately amongst us friends. Most reunions are about that so geordie must have no desire to see his fellow contestants.

I was gonna say - a reunion without our Suez knowing...that would be VERY rare!

As president of the Geordie Fan Club, I should probably answer this on his behalf.

Geordie unfortunately committed the cardinal sin of going to the newspapers with the story about his suspected heart attack and his treatment by the studio - for those of you who remember that far back to Jan/Feb 2006! Up until then, he was a pretty popular guy. All hell let loose shortly after the airing of the show and his newspaper interview which criticized Endemols procedures at the time over his illness (procedures which I believe have since been changed, so he must have been at least half-right!), and Geordie was eventually banned from Dave Woolin's ScrewtheBanker contestant site plus a couple of other DOND-related forums.

Geordie doesn't want to rake over the distant past, and neither do I particularly, but the upshot is that there are a lot of contestants out there from those days who haven't forgiven him for that article (Show56 Dave is not one of them, but feelings run high on the subject), so he is not generally welcome at these reunions in any case, which is another reason why he won't go.

Just to clarify, Geordie's £20 cheque was donated to the Inverness Highland Hospice, and the fee received from the Scottish Sun newspaper article was also donated to the same place, for which Geordie has his own personal family reasons for supporting. He didn't make any money out of his time on Deal or No Deal at all.

That's really all there is to say on the matter. That's the general gist as I understand it. Geordie will honour his commitment to buy Igor a beer, but I'm not quite sure how they will ever hope to meet - it certainly won't be at any official reunion!! :-)
