I have been watching some videos of older shows and I remember how much I got into them and how atmospheric they once were.

When DoND started.

Then we had the run of games that really were magic and you couldn't even blink. Maybe the peak of deal or no deal in my opinion?

And now... well... er.... its just... everyshow is the same and there arent very many individual personalities customizing the show.

Deal or no Deal is declining now in my opinion, so maybe the new season will be even worse than season 2?

Each to his own opinion, but the lineup as of now in my opinion is great, and there's characters like Brian and Alan and Norman (not forgetting all the contestants who post here) who I can't wait for their games. That's definitely a contrast to how I felt at the end of Season 1, when it really seemed like the Banker had simply become unbeatable and the atmosphere went a bit bleurgh (until Nick D and Lance's games proved amazing).

I've definitely noticed atmosphere changes in the history of the show. It starts off modest, then around the whole March 2006 golden era it becomes great, then by about June it went a bit mental, possibly too much (every game around that time had a loud screaming contestant with the others chanting/cheering/crying even louder). But then it seemed to go a bit flat, and it wasn't until the end of September when things picked up again. Around late May this year it seemed to get better, thanks to the blue chants vamoosing and players like Joe and Rodney really getting on the player's sides on the wings, and since then it's not stopped being great. Especially the audience in Jackee, Michelle and Dan's games!

I agree that it's better since the blue chanting has been scrapped that the atomsphere is better. I think they got the balance right in Carol's game where there was tension but no chanting and the audience were supportive (c'mon etc).
DOND's been going back to it's old ways recently in terms of atmosphere which is good.
I didn't like the atmosphere where Noel and the audience were creating a delusionary atmosphere in some games earlier in the year with too much blue chants, positivity etc. ( eg Ian's game etc) but I hope that problem has gone away now.

It's definately become better since the blue chants have gone. I'd forgotten how annoying they were until I watched the classic shows. There was a stage a while ago where I thought it got a bit dull and I couldn't name or picture many of the contestants. The last week before the summer break was excellent, with some really brave players and that fantastic 2p deal. I'm quite looking forward to it starting up again. I think last year it took a few weeks for it to gain momentum again, I don't know if that'll happen again this year. There's quite a few games to look forward to. I think as long as the first game is entertaining, it should be OK.

Definitely, 150% sure of it. DoND has been declining for a long time, and what with replacing us guys with women, well.......that WILL be DoND's death sentence. And it serves endemol right.

every show is the same, same offers, same people, same presenter. Boring. No phone in anymore. says it all really.

A few of us who were once part of the furniture, once stalwarts of the grand and extravagant, exuberant and thriving forum, have receded back into the walls, still faintly visible, still here as poignant, reminding relics of an era gone by; but most of us have vanished, forever immersed in the mists of time.

As long as it's good like the last week with good characters and games.
e.g. Lynn, carol, Asim, Carol etc it will be fine IMO.

The ship will only sink if Noel goes too OTT
and the show returns to stupid gimmicks, PJ, richard's blackmail offer, blue chants, positivity cr*p etc.

Who knows there could be plenty of exciting games in the new season.

Hi guys, I'm a newbie. Have been on show and will be back on Monday. It is a bit scary being there at first, but hopefully came out of my shell. I certainly did in my game, wait and see people....There will also be more eye candy for the guys....

Well whoever you are, fingers crossed, I hope you beat the Banker! :P

I think the line break went in the wrong place! Meant to illustrate Jennifer as the example of 'sensible' and Sam/Saj as the example of the frenetic games where 'you couldn't even blink'.

Hi Brenda, hope you did well on your show, but "The Banker" on this forum isn't the banker on the real show.
Hi Brenda, hope you did well on your show, but "The Banker" on this forum isn't the banker on the real show.
 Hi Cookie Monster, doh, I think I realised this is not the same Banker, just kidding. Cannot say how I got on, but put it this way, it did not change my life, but it was great while it lasted. Catch up later.

Interesting...strangely, I am actually not looking forward to the show returning. Hopefully, in the future, the format of the show will be changed, or something will happen to spice it up, but a part of me thinks, being a viewer for well over a year now, I'm kinda tired of red boxes...

And I mean I know the lineup to be continued is very broad, but that's the thing, isn't it? I've already seen broad lineups time and time again, and with there already being some 'classic' DoND moments, what more can they do that hasn't been done before? A 500k episode with the top prize going in the opening box! Who needs an occasion, do it again, be impulsive!!
