This is a question for any of those people who have been on the show or in the audience.

When the shows are being recorded, is the incidental music played "live" in the studio? Or are the tracks just edited into the broadcast episodes?

The only music played live in the studio is the credits at the start of the show. While this is being played all the contestants do a little dance, which you can't see because of the title animation. Luckily.

Which was a shock to me the first time I went in there and saw the lights flashing away over everyone's heads as they were chosen in silence. It's quite spooky / unsettling. Just as you relax someone's name is called!

yea, i thought it would ruin the atmosphere but it really didn't.

the dancing was a good idea i thought, as obviously it got the audience going a bit, even after the warm up comedy guy we had, he was good as well!
