I know some claim that March 2006 to be the greatest month ever, but I beg to differ and pick May 2006 to be the greatest month.

Reasons:

Original Gaz's comeback to win £100,000
June's game, including the £2 + rules proveout offer.
Buzz's run of blues ("You want a blue? I'll give you a blue!")
Stevie and her record of Power Four amounts (I think she only ever had £35,000 once in her run)
Some long runners get to play their games - Original Smiler Dave, Sarah and Raj and Pat M among them.
Colin and Colin's game ("You really don't want me living next door to you, do ya?")
The Eurovision themed game!

There are probably many more though...

march 06 was the best month in terms of characters. It was rubbish in terms of player vs banker gameplay (barring Aaron, Mad Sarah).

May 06 probably did have better games, Gaz and Dave W and simones were quite good. It was a turning point in the show's history with the offers, blue chants etc. Morris's was excellent as well.

That said it wan't the best month ever but it still had plenty of classic moments.
March 06 is particularly over appreciated IMO (mainly in terms of gameplay).

March 2006 wasn't special at all, I can't see the big liking about it really.

March 2006 did have a lot going for it, and possibly more undisputed classic players than any other month - but so much of it was in the shadow of Sequencegate, and I suspect that quite a few people desperately talked up the wings there to take their mind off the impending scandal. I know I did. There were also some very strong boards, which tends to influence people (ditto January 2007, which personally was my least favourite month of all time, and the month I stopped watching the show regularly).

May 2006 is horridly underrated. So is May 2007!

I can't really remember much of May 2006, really. As soon as it's mentioned I think "Yay, Gaz, Pat M and Morris!" - only to realise that they were all in the first week of that month.

Truth be told, I think Morris's game was the end of the first golden era of the show, which started in early February 2006-ish. The second one I'd say didn't start until the end of September around the time of games like Khanny's and Michaela's, as that's when some fantastic contestants like Harry and Jeff started to arrive and the show started getting incredibly good again.

I'll never stop thinking that March 06 was the greatest Season 1 month and January 07 was the greatest Season 2 month, though.

I think May 2006 was underrated as well. In my opinion, it had a lot of great contestants and some good games.

march is probably the best for characters because of the "Amazing :? " Lucy playing, poor girl, after waiting for the previous 49 shows, and winning a fiver.[£1,005 actually, given what JT said]

and may 2006 wasnt really special at all, didnt stick out as one of the best months

Like Tom Hanks and his football on that island in 'Cast Away', it looks like it's just me and the bots here now. But that's alright, we're having a grand old time. Aren't we, Wilson? WILSOOOON?!

A few of us who were once part of the furniture, once stalwarts of the grand and extravagant, exuberant and thriving forum, have receded back into the walls, still faintly visible, still here as poignant, reminding relics of an era gone by; but most of us have vanished, forever immersed in the mists of time.

I thought May 2006 was a very good month and it is underrated - it had some great characters playing and some memorable games... and also had some legends on the wings - such as Pat M at the beginning, as well as June and Stevie!
