I'm sure this has got another thread here on the discussion board, So I apologise if this a bit of a repeat.

The applications for DOND, there's quite a lot we know but has anyone gone down to the Bristol studio to see the show themselves?

I was fortunate enough to book tickets and headed down from Warrington one night to see two recordings, me and a couple of mates witnessed Chris' game and Lee's game from 21st & 22nd of December (Noel's birthday show!).

It was a particularly entertaining evening, Noel was on fine form and it made for fine show as both contestants went home with quite a bit, if I remember Off the top of my head, Chris went home with £25,000 and Lee went with £50,000 even though he had £75,000 in his box and the £250,000 still in play.

The train ticket to get from campus to Bristol itself cost more than what Nick and Irene left with on the show!

Ian

Hi Both

I went down sometime ago now and saw James show (the gentleman !) He had £100 k in his box but went at £32 I think.. Silly Billy.
Great day out, although I was expecting to see more than one game to be honest.. took me 3 hrs to get there but well worth it, even for the free glass of wine ! Hic !!
The studios were a shocker, Noel deserves better.. its a porter cabin isnt it !! Far cry from the Theatre of dreams...

I have attended the audience for two afternoon recordings.

The first was recorded way back on 21st November 2005 where it was Rob's game (episode thirty-eight). Fortunatly I managed to sit on the front row, right behind Noel & Rob :-D only drawback that you couldn't see the £750 & £250K on the gameboard. Very hilarious episode as what you guys didn't see in the final edit was he actually broke the bottom of the main stool in addition of knocking his mug off and ended up chipping it. :D It was a very foggy afternoon and virtually impossible to drive back up the M5 on that day.

The second time was last month (17th March) where the show is set to air on 16th May. Can't go into much detail of the show result but a few changes from last time where now the gameboard turns into a onscreen camera so we get to see that person's lucky charms and see the contents of the contestants box. The only danger of coming for the second time is that Noel has mentioned so much of what they have done on the show but these events are yet to be aired. From what he said there are some eye-openers to come ;). This is due the recording/transmission gap is a whopping two months compared to last year it was a mere three weeks.

Also I remember from Chris' game, what wasn't seen was when it came to the viewers competition at the end, a few takes had to be taken with this old man in the audience called Cyril.

When Noel asked him about the game, I'm remembering that he didn't talk into the microphone so it took about three takes to get the box selected.

Then on the next take, after the box had been revealed, Noel tripped and fell after the last step to great applause and laughter.

The warm-up act Greg informed us afterwards that Cyril had applied to become a contestant, so look out for a possible future DOND, exchanges between him and Noel could be classic should Cyril appear.

yea that was me lol! apparently i look a lot older though, so it helps, i mean, claudine who organises it all just asked me my d.o.b on the phone and i upped it two years, i'm sure anyone could do the same, it's not as if you get id'd when you get there or anythin! heh. i just turned 17 last week, the show i went to watch was kirsty's game when it was recorded back in february, fantastic...

...oh and if anyone still has her show recorded, go right back to the beginning on the opening show of the set with the applause etc and you can hear my dog/monkey noises in the audience! it's hilarious check it out!

but yea, goin to watch the show is great and i'd recommend it to anyone, but they've stopped accepting places now for a while due to the success of the show  never mind

I went in the audience to watch Patrick and it was great fun. I couldn't believe it when they picked that guy Sean out of the audience to speak to The Banker!

As I was on the front row, Noel looked at me before the filming and said "Cheer up! You're going to be in all of my shots so make sure you're smiling!" He was joking (I hope!)

Also if you go, you get 2 free drinks (alcoholic or soft), tea and coffee, biscuits and crisps for free, and there was also a white board asking everyone to write down where they had come from. There were loads of students there (including me!)

So I would reccomend anyone to go! We all had such a great day. Just a pity Noel didn't sign any autographs!!!!

I went down to Bristol on the 23rd March and the two shows I'm on go out on 31st May and 1st June. They were both great games in different ways for different reasons.

We're hoping to go again some time soon, although I've not applied for tickets yet :(

I guess they must be far enough ahead then that they can now take a break from filming for a while. Thought they'd have to at some point to allow themselves to catch up :-)

Please keep the amounts they won a secret so people who don't want it ruined don't have to have it ruined.

Maybe give a warning or put it in white

You have to keep it quiet anyway Lee, that's part of the form that you sign when you're in the audience. You don't give any details out before the show goes out.

Is all I've told anyone is what day I'm going to be on the show and nothing more than that.

I was in the audience for Andy's game back in January and Oke's and Paul's games in February. Going again in a couple of weeks. Def recommend it and you can humiliate yourself (like I did) by being a muppet and opening the boxes at the end. You get so involved in the game that you forget the cameras are there - fine until you watch it on tv and you suddenly see yourself, double chins and everything! Oke had a bad game and there were some scary close ups of me deep in thought!
