Hi, could someone inform me why Noel calls the audience "pilgrims". Also does everyone still have the opinion that the ex soap actor Glen Hugill is the Banker. Do you think we will ever hear his voice on the show in the future. Thanks for your help.

The dictionary definition for 'pilgrim' is "A religious devotee who journeys to a shrine or sacred place". Which fits, really, religious devotees of Deal or No Deal journey to the sacred place that is the Dream Factory! I think Noel started using the term from Janelle's game but am not sure.

Glenn Hugill is a common theory but no one for sure knows who the Banker is. Who knows, though, one day we might find out!

The banker being Glenn is the theroy that everyone believes because it makes more sense, with him being an actor, but it could be anybody really. Which is the great thing about it! :D

Is it not the contestants who are on a pilgrimage to get the money, not the audience?

I dunno, Noel invented the term, not me!

Maybe they'll invent a 24 Hour Church of Deal or No Deal. Or perhaps not.

I find it hilarious that Noel actually calls them 'pilgrims' and whenever he does, I can't help but have a little giggle. If they are the pilgrims, Noel might as well call himself God.

Think i'll disect my answer for that...

1) i think Noel calls the audience pilgrims because apparently people as crazy as Suezan flock from all over the world just to watch someone win a coule of grand, and i personally think he's a *beep* anyway.

2) There hasnt been a point in the history of the site where everyone thought Glenn was the banker, but I for definite am sticking with the theory that he is the banker - after all he refused to comment on whether he was or was not, which means that he evidently is

Like Tom Hanks and his football on that island in 'Cast Away', it looks like it's just me and the bots here now. But that's alright, we're having a grand old time. Aren't we, Wilson? WILSOOOON?!

A few of us who were once part of the furniture, once stalwarts of the grand and extravagant, exuberant and thriving forum, have receded back into the walls, still faintly visible, still here as poignant, reminding relics of an era gone by; but most of us have vanished, forever immersed in the mists of time.

The banker is one of two people. It's either Glen Hugill or it's Mr Blobby. Personally, I think it's the latter.

Well it's gotta be an actor - if we hear a fairly youngish man cackling down the phone, and yet Noel always quotes him in a gruff voice, something has to be said about that, surely!

Just imagine if it's neither of the two though!
