Do you get nervous for the contestant in the chair
as the boxes are opened? Does the tension and drama
of the show get to you? Maybe your heart rate speeds up,
you start shouting at the TV, and feel drained at the end! :D
Or do you feel totally chilled out for the whole show?

During DOND, I frequently get shouted at to "keep the noise down". I think that sums up just how much I'm capable of getting into it...

No. Not at all - i used to, but unless the game is either really weak or really strong as it were, i dont get nervous.

Like Tom Hanks and his football on that island in 'Cast Away', it looks like it's just me and the bots here now. But that's alright, we're having a grand old time. Aren't we, Wilson? WILSOOOON?!

A few of us who were once part of the furniture, once stalwarts of the grand and extravagant, exuberant and thriving forum, have receded back into the walls, still faintly visible, still here as poignant, reminding relics of an era gone by; but most of us have vanished, forever immersed in the mists of time.

When I'm with my family watching it, then yes all through the game. Best bit is anything over £20,000 found, my mum takes a sharp intake of breath!

When I'm not with my family watching it, it only gets nervous for me after the 2nd break. Or depending on how good the game was (e.g. Matt with his first two all-blue rounds), then earlier!

actually since the banker's started to go back to march-early june 2006 mode, and only veered off for a bit with renee yesterday, i am starting to get more nervous. Except now of course you can tell exactly what the offer will be for a certain opening round. Which is part of what makes it more boring to watch. Suez, surely you'll have to agree there? Surely???

I for one agree. The Banker has started being more fair when it comes to deserving offers.

No I get to wrapped up in it, probably because I meet a lot of the people afterwards, some games make me more nervous than others though and I admit the Banker is being a tad predictable

I used to get quite tense during games but I don't so much now, probably because we have seen everything that can happen on DOND now really - including a £250k winner.

I still find it quite tense making when players take a gamble or when they have a board that is about to fall apart and I find it even more tense-making when it's a player I really like who has been faced with this situation!

That's why you should revisit the Adam Fan Club thread, H - Adam himself has joined us! :-D

And Dan...I warned you not to say the B word...you'll cop for it big time now! ;) will leave you in the unsafe hands of Suezan who will administer the coup de grace

Only a bit during the 6th round of a one box game when you're expecting a certain box to go, Bunney, Penny,Graeme, Lionel, Renee etc. It's not as tense as it used to be as we've seen everything.

I remember finding the first episode ever incredibly tense, and how surprised I was that I was getting so worked up over a show about opening boxes.

Seeing a few shows live, the tension is *massive*. In the three shows I've seen, the tension's been a lot more than on TV, the fact that the game is happening right now, in front of you live, means you really *really* want them to do well, and it's going to be interesting in a few weeks time watching them on TV to see if the end result is the same. I've also been in a situation where I've met contestants prior to their game being shown on TV (Simon, Paul S, Andrew and Rachel are examples of this) and it makes you want them to win big even more. Indeed I'm really hoping that the contestants I saw live, quite a few of which are on the wings now, do well!

It still happens at home, though, Karen's game on Friday I was finding really tense even though it was only over £10,000. That's the great thing about the show, whether you're playing for £250,000 or a million times less, you still want them to win the highest amount that's there!

I don't get nervous, I just get irritated at all the time-wasting for a show that could quite easily lose 15minutes off its running time. Many is the time I sit at the screen shouting "It's not rocket science you stupid (wo)man, just pick a number and get on with it!". :-D
