Like Tom Hanks and his football on that island in 'Cast Away', it looks like it's just me and the bots here now. But that's alright, we're having a grand old time. Aren't we, Wilson? WILSOOOON?!

A few of us who were once part of the furniture, once stalwarts of the grand and extravagant, exuberant and thriving forum, have receded back into the walls, still faintly visible, still here as poignant, reminding relics of an era gone by; but most of us have vanished, forever immersed in the mists of time.

Chloe................................

...................... did better than Deal-Eye, as it would've dealt her final offer of £240 and box 23, making its winnings £480.

Sadly, imageshack now charges you to have an account on that site, so unless someone knows a free image-sharing site, I can't post anymore charts. :smt009

Ah... Yeah, I noticed that when I was wrapping up my own analysis earlier in the year. Bit odd given they let me use it for free for 2 and a half years, but oh well

Fortunately, I do seem to have a bit of 'credit' left there, so here's Chloe's visual summary! :D

Image

Deal-Eye leads 17-10 after 36 games.

Yes... I think we'll see a lot more 2-box deals like this for Deal-Eye, the banker has no real reason not to offer a fairly generous offer as box 23 will be opened whatever, and there's some logic to taking the offer and giving yourself spendable money. Not too bad a result in the end to an unavoidable trainwreck...

EDIT: Mine would appear to expire tomorrow, so yeah try Tinypic ACB, there's probably a few others about... :ponder:

Roop................................

A thoroughly deserved jackpot win for both sides, for while today's offers were no doubt stingy, they were on a board where they were still difficult to decline. :smt023 Considering the Banker knows everyone's utility curves thanks to those stupid deal lights, though, I doubt this will improve the offers in future games.

Sarah...........................

A game where you couldn't really have regrets regardless of which course of action you took for 8 box onwards, but since Deal-Eye isn't affected by mind games and always plays the board, it obviously dealt the final offer for a pedantic WIN. :-D :smt023

Firstly, Deal-Eye obviously would've won £100 in Victoria's game for a DRAW. :smt009

Now Giulio...................................

A BRILLIANT game to finish off the week :smt023 , but not if Deal-Eye was in the chair. :( Sadly, thanks to it's over-aggression on one box games at 3 box, £35,000 wasn't nearly enough for it. On balance, it was thoroughly deserved defeat for Deal-Eye, like most of it's defeats this year (i.e. dealing the 3rd offer in Joey's game, crashing in Nick's, Lily's, Patrick's and Erica's games despite there being good offers during their games, and taking several utility-defying Deals on all-blue finishes).

No system is infallible, it never could be! And "Utility-defying" deals are hardly surprising for a system that could never hope to factor in such considerations, when everyone's is different anyway! And Fair Deal has rarely been about utility... :ponder:

More of a case for taking slightly low offers on blue/blue finishes with 23 now, giving a better percentage chance of "spendable money", I.e. £120 for HALF rather than, say, 25p.

Point is, whatever strategy you use, it'd be difficult to achieve a consistently winning gameplay, due to an element known as LUCK. The trouble of course at 3-box for DE here is 2 of the remaining pairs being about £70k AND the median pair value being one of these to skew the benchmark severely...

It's a flaw undoubtedly, but changing the overall methodology for ANY stage seems wrong too. So, we'll just have to settle for the outrageous wins/ appropriate defeats/ pedantic wins etc. these scenarios create! :D :smt023

I was being what one may call... sarcastic. HOWEVER, as creator of Deal-Eye(tm) I thank you for your detailed response back, as I can imagine a very busy schedule you must have :D

Um... My "schedule" is none of your business and totally irrelevant to a discussion that late at night anyway. If you think that was a smart, clever comment, dream on. I'm just giving a point of view and that's it, don't start making it personal! :D

I think you'd have to go back to about 2007 for a £52k offer on a board like that!

Joe..............................

An VERY inconsistently cautious Deal at 5 box in the contestant's part (looking at the Fair Deal which is unquestionably a better measure of relative generosity than Deal-Eye) and sadly a blue being in both boxes means Deal-Eye would've got NOTHING out of today's game. :(
