Is it just me or are the majority of the players gay or black? Just an observation.

Is everyone a homophobic, racist *beep* where you come from, or is it just you?
Just an observation.

Now *beep* off.

Like Tom Hanks and his football on that island in 'Cast Away', it looks like it's just me and the bots here now. But that's alright, we're having a grand old time. Aren't we, Wilson? WILSOOOON?!

A few of us who were once part of the furniture, once stalwarts of the grand and extravagant, exuberant and thriving forum, have receded back into the walls, still faintly visible, still here as poignant, reminding relics of an era gone by; but most of us have vanished, forever immersed in the mists of time.

''No, no, not got a racist bone in me body lalala i have no issue with what people wanna do just making an observation ''

There is *no* other reason why you ask this question, make those 'observations'. You prefer to not see them anywhere and are miffed when you do.

Interesting that you say this considering how I recently commented about how the first 3/4 months of 2008 (before that week in April where the twins, Sheron and Sal all joined at once) was probably the "whitest" period in the history of the show, with only FOUR (!) non-white contestants and about 3 or 4 gay or bisexual contestants during that run (this was when LGBTQ contestants were only JUST starting to open up on the show - Miss Orry basically opened the floodgates around this time after 2 years of contestants having to stay "closeted" about their orientation), but that was me talking about how discussung a contestants' race or sexuality actually seemed like a novelty back then compared to now!

Deal Or No Deal has always been about showcasing people from all walks of life, across different cultures, races, disabilities, sexualities etc.

As for 'nearly every contestant' being gay? Out of over 70 episodes so far we've had maybe 7-10 openly LGBT contestants - that's really not far outside the proportion of LGBT people in day to day life.

I think someone can passively make an observation about television inclusivity without being inherently homophobic or racist. At no point could I see any negativity associated with the original post.

Its true to say with TV there is pressure from production to make it as inclusive as possible. Sometimes it may be that blatantly inclusive that in filling the cast or contestants with inclusive types it is no longer inclusive of those that do not fit those particular labels?

Idk Wakey, I have yet to ever see a question like that asked by somebody who wasn't thinking underneath it all ''I'd rather not see them''. Been around too many of the 65+ in my working life. Whereas myself, I hadn't even noticed at all. Only if you actually got me looking.

The OG version was pretty inclusive for its time (imagine calling 2006 ''for its time'' but here we are), the only dated aspect was that gay contestants always had a ''partner in crime'' in the audience rather than being open.

I did randomly think of you only yesterday btw. I was channel hopping on Sky Sports and Grimsby were playing Tranmere. Nice to see you ain't forgotten us, madlad

I totally agree, when a question like that is asked with certain people there can a predisposal of dislike towards the subject, its hard to be neutral but it can be good for discussion with the right people

Grimsby are doing well the last few years, never thought id be saying that after constant conference league play offs. Its crazy what sticks after nearly 20 years.

Id like to say I've forgotten most of the 2006 era forum stuff but I had a look back the other day... I should send daniel4389 an apology for any hair loss he may have now from arguing with me
