Just thought I'd say hello!

Hi

I'm new to this site and and I've only been watching DOND for about a month or so. I have to admit that I couldn't understand how 22 contestants opening 22 boxes could make interesting television let alone be highly addictive - but after watching just one programme I was hooked. However, I do miss it on Sunday's :smt090

I used to be a fan of Countdown before, but now I whizz through to the end to see who has won and then watch the whole of DOND

I hope that Des and Carol can forgive me

We're DOND mad in our house. Me and hubby get the dinner ready while DOND finishes taping (we both get home at about 5.30) and then sit with dinner on our laps watching the taped programme. We don't talk about anything else until after the show (lots of discussion about whether we would have dealt or not as the show goes on) and at the end we guess which of the 3 boxes will have the most in for the phone in competition.

Then we spend a further ten minutes discussing who's gonna be on tomorrow.

Then I phone my mum and we talk about the show too.

It really is fantastic here with a brilliant group of members who're all hooked on DoND!

I must admit that even though I didn't 'get' the show at first I was instantly hooked and now I'm obsessed!

That's quite true, the most unlikely concepts can make great TV!

I never thought watching people play cards would make interesting television either, until I happened to catch a Poker Million episode and became instantly addicted to televised poker...

Wow thanks for all your welcome messages. I can only post during work time at the moment (no I didn't really say that!) cos I need to get a new computer for home. I nearly joined the forum on "the darkside" before coming here, but after reading some of the comments changed my mind. You are certainly a happy, friendly bunch and I will look forward to "speaking" to you all again soon.

Now I'd better get back to that little thing called work :smt024
