Pointless stats of the day... I was wondering recently, who actually witnessed the most money being won during their time on the show, including their shows in the wings and their own game? Was it Lucy, just through being there for 50 shows? Someone there for Laura's game? Somebody else?

Well, thanks to Dave's spreadsheet, here's the answer! The top ten are as follows:

By total amount

1) Andrew (2) £933,975.49
2) Lucy (1) £910,459.01
3) Bunney £883,485.99
4) Dennis £844,960.49
5) Daniel £750,585.99
6) Elton £701,495.99
7) Richard (3) £678,865.49
8) Kay (1) £677,201.51
9) Phil £671,359.99
10) Nicola £670,432.00

So even with 50 shows, Lucy ends up behind Andrew who was there for 31 shows including a number of very big wins. Unfortunately, both won low amounts in their own games, as did fourth placed Dennis!

By average win per show appeared in

1) Bunney £32,721.70
2) Stella £32,637.37
3) Dennis £31,294.83
4) Phil £30,516.36
5) George £30,187.41
6) Andrew (2) £30,128.24
7) Julie (2) £29,635.73
8) Laura £29,451.00
9) Jasmine £29,421.44
10) Nicola £29,149.22

He was certainly one of the most memorable characters, whether you loved him or hated him, but Bunney was also DOND's greatest good luck charm, seeing the highest average win of any contestant during his time there!
(Edit: Audrey (2) was only there for 2 shows which saw wins of £41,000 and £20,000. So perhaps should appear in 5th place, but thought it's only fair to include those who did a reasonable number of shows!)

I was going to say that most of the players there are only mentioned becuase of Laura, but of course there was Bunney, Julie, Stella, and Porno Jane from that time as well!

I'd like to see one made up taking January 07 out of the equation though! :)

OK, excluding all players who appeared at any time during January 2007 (and they make up 27 of the top 37 by amount, and the entire top 29 by average!)

5) Dave W £575,999.02
6) Pat M £575,105.02
7) Kirsty (2) £570,287.02
8 ) John (1) £568,810.10
9) Debbie (3) £560,346.49
10) Elaine H £554,210.10

By average

Dave (2) was Cheeseman wasn't he? I might have thought, in that case, that Nancy or Find The Pound Bob would be above him in the averages, as they would have missed £1 Mike's game, but obviously Alison, Nancy and Nick would have lowered the average by too much to make up for the £1 game!

Yes, I'm quite surprised that Cheeseman and Gentleman James were the only March 06 players to feature in the averages.

Bob would appear 12th in that table (with Den ahead of him in 11th) and Nancy would be 16th (also behind Pauline (1), Shahid (2) and Sheran).

If you're going to do a unluckiest by average, I'll try to hazard a guess as to who'll come out top....I reckon it will be someone from around the summer break, seeing 4 1p wins in a short space of time, several other blue wins, and the lowest winning week ever in the second week back, so I'll go for....Khanny?

Things picked up again after he played, and I think Lance, Buddy, Nev and Nick D's big wins in that time will be more than offset by the number of trainwrecks!

I think you might be wrong there, as last week's figures show a week with a couple of big wins and the rest trainwrecks, will have a much higher average than, say, a week where everyone wins £10,000!

OK, here's the unluckiest by average: (By total would be fairly meaningless as it will be dominated by really short runners.)

1) Vaughan £9,575.00
2) Simone £10,785.95
3) Mark (2) £10,906.00
4) Stevie £10,910.59
5) Buzz £11,469.32
6) Ken £11,488.00
7) Pauline (2) £11,609.95
8) Sarah (4) £11,675.52*
9) Shirley £11,697.33
10) Colin (1) £11,715.92

*excluding Amanda's game

Of course Vaughan only did 12 shows, but a lot of the others were somewhere around the average 22! Buzz is the longest runner in the top 10 with 25 shows.

Actually I should have known it would be May 06, post-Gaz! No wins over 33k is going to give a pretty rubbish average! :)

Yeah, we didn't see anything you could really describe as a "big win" between Gaz and Buddy. The very skewed distribution of wins means that a mixture of trainwrecks and big wins will still produce a high average, whereas lots of mediocre games will produce a low one.

If things don't pick up soon though, those who joined since Rodney's game will be challenging Vaughan for his title!

I like how stevie is at 4, the reason is probably is that she wrecked all the games with having high numbers all the time.
