We've got a thread on the longest sequences of red wins, but how about the occasions when we get more than one blue win together?

Perhaps surprisingly, there's only been two sequences of three consecutive wins of less than £1,000 - Connell, Debbie and John in that disastrous week just before the summer break in 2006, and more recently Kulwant, Irene and Caroline in the female half of the "battle of the sexes" month in September 2007.

Consecutive blue wins

3 Connell (1p), Debbie (£250), John (£100) 17/18/19 July 2006
3 Kulwant (£10), Irene (52p), Caroline (£500) 13/14/15 September 2007
2 Irene (£5), Nick (1p) 2/3 Jan 2006
2 Trevor (1p), Mike (£1) 1/2 March 2006
2 Jim R (£500), Barbara (£1) 18/20 March 2006
2 Lucy (£5), Janet (£1) 30/31 March 2006
2 Nessie (£10), Scott (£5) 14 June 2006 (both)
2 Giorgio (1p), Lindsay (£500) 22 July & 28 Aug 2006 (either side of summer break)
2 Lee (£750), "Spiky" Sandra (£50) 30/31 Oct 2006
2 Anna-Marie (£250), David (£500) 26/27 Nov 2006 (assuming Amanda won at least £1,000)
2 Gloria (£5), Andrew (£10) 9/11 Feb 2007
2 Jean (£500), Ian (£50) 19/20 March 2007
2 Nathan (£500), Philomena (£250) 3/4 April 2007
2 Pippa (50p), Adam (1p) 14/15 June 2007
2 Manuel (£5), Mac (£100) 20/21 June 2007
2 Vicky (£2.15), Claire (£100) 23/24 August 2007
2 Robin (£39), Pete (10p) 6/7 September 2007
2 Gillian (£100), Lee (10p) 6/8 October 2007

That's interesting - I'd have expected there to be more occasions when there have been 2 blues in a row, although I'm probably thinking of when there's been a blue win, then a low red win, then another blue win... I think that's happened quite often.

Interesting to know what the longest consecutive blue/low red win is - depends on how low you want the red win to be - I can think of James/Clare/Dave E/Dot as an example, and there was nearly 5 in a row leading up to Christmas, if you count G.K's £10k as a low red!

I think I'd count anything between £1,000 and £10,000 inclusive as a low red - after all, these are orange and not red on the gameboard!

I think there have been five separate runs of four games without a 5-figure win (I'm classing £10k as a metaphorical boundary):

Oli, Dilys, Paul, Shell
Jenna, Lynsey, Michael D, Robbie
Lucy, Janet, Steve, Jim H
James, Clare, Dave E, Dot
Paul, Sarah, Rob, Cocky Bill

But there was a run of 8 games in early September (Ottis to Adam - where the highest win was a massive £10,004!) :)

The last two games were the first back-to-back blue wins since April - and not only that but it breaks the long-standing record of 1p Trevor and £1 Mike for the worst two-day spell!

Tomorrow's player has to win more than £349.50 to avoid making it the worst three-game run of all time! Let's hope they do... :?

Yes I have - Nathan's £500 deal is the only one which occurred as part of a pair of blue wins.

There have only been 5 deals for less than £1,000 of course, the others being Geordie, Roy (2), Jason (2) and Wayne.

They count Wayne's deal as a red win in the book, I think.

But it's less than the lowest red amount, so it's a blue amount...

But you could also say it's more than the highest blue amount so is red!

I've always seen "redness" as starting at £1,000 though - I mean, that barely qualifies as a red anyway, so I certainly think anything in three figures should count as blue. Of course we've only ever had one win in the £750.01 to £999.99 region anyway!

Another pair of blue wins. :(

And also, 5 blues and a £1,000 in the last 9 games. Have we ever had a worse run, apart from "1p Week" just before last year's summer break?

7-Sep-07 Pete 10p

Only the second time ever we've seen three consecutive blue wins. Four in a row would be an all-time record!

Out of interest, what's the most consecutive RED wins. I can't think we're anywhere near it at the moment, but since and including Tom's New Orleans Trip, we've had 11 red wins, and temporarily stemmed the tide of the trainwrecks it seems...

Unfortunately that run ended today! But there is a thread on it here:

http://www.dond.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7178

The longest run of red wins is still the first 25 shows, before Raj won 10p in show 26.
