I made this graph using the ScrewThebanker stats -

Interesting just how uniform the increasing first offers have been:

Image

Edit: grr the graph may not currently fit on smaller screens atm, I've made it smaller in photobucket but that takes a small amount of time to work.

20 point moving average

I bet that took some time to do!

It does prove quite a big point that the baker is getting more and more generous o first offers which is good in my opinion as that is the bankers job, to buy the box and nobody would do that at the first offer unless it was alot higher than £15,000.

Not really :) I only had to copy the column of first offers from the Screwthebanker spreadsheet, and stick in a forumula every twenty values to average the last 20 values.

Thats not a moving average then

You should start at 20 and get the average of the first 20 then 21 and do the same apart from the first then 22 and miss out the 1 and 2... etc
I think. :?

Ah yeh, your right. So the graph isnt quite a true moving average but its quite close. It would just be a similar line just 'oscillating' much more I think.

Glad people foudn it interesting, I'll make some more for the other offers maybe.. .

In the early days, some of the offers were really bad. e.g Shell 1st all blue opening round was offer £4,300. That is a terrible offer compared to Matt £20,000 1st offer!

September 20th Khanny £16,000 Contestant's Winnings: £5,000 (in box)
September 26th Matt £20,000 Contestant's Winnings: £5,000 (in box)
October 29th David J £17,000 Contestant's Winnings: £70,000 (Deal)
November 3rd Howard £18,000 Contestant's Winnings: £1 (in box)
November 30th Margaret £15,000 Contestant's Winnings: £20,000 (in box)
December 8th Lynsey £15,000 Contestant's Winnings: £20,000 (in box)
December 25th (1) Wrighty £24,000 Contestant's Winnings: £32,000 (Deal)
December 26th (2) Danny £21,500 Contestant's Winnings: £20,000 + £10,000 special gift (Deal)

6 out of these 9 contestants won more money than their high first round offers.
