[quote="wokoman88"]With two last week, and the variety of opinions on them, would you have dealt at any of them?

Some were clever, some ok and some were downright foolish!, but would you have gone at:

2.Andrew's £14,000

Andrews Game was recorded on the evening of 11th January 2006. It was the second game of the day and what many of you may not know was that his game was recorded during a series of power cuts in the area around the studio. On two occasions Andrew was actually asked the question and the power failed before he could answer the question. After a 40 minute break - the tension got to the bloke - and as he told me afterwards he just wanted it over. £14,000 was a nice sum of money and he was happy.

I would have no dealed. It's too early, and £14,000 isn't anything huge compared to whats on the board.

A few of us who were once part of the furniture, once stalwarts of the grand and extravagant, exuberant and thriving forum, have receded back into the walls, still faintly visible, still here as poignant, reminding relics of an era gone by; but most of us have vanished, forever immersed in the mists of time.

Congrtulations Dan, it's actually nice to see one of our younger members actually considering why it maybe a good idea to deal... rather than just saying no deal to everything... I'm of course not thinking of Wakey's "no deal, no deal, no deal..." answer, there. ;)

That sounds something like what happened to Massimo after the box re-shuffling thing - I think after the two six-figure sums had gone in a round he just wanted out for the first chance of enough money to take his father to Vegas, even though I found the deal quite surprising after him turning down £16k at the 2nd offer, it was very understandable given the circumstances!

I am glad Harry dealt at £20,000 at the 3rd offer, I think this will cause the banker to rethink these inflatedly high early offers.

The effects of that may be negative for him though - might mean more people going to the end. On the other hand, people seem more willing to go to the end to chase those huge second and third offers, so...

I think people are more likely to no deal through low offers from beginning to end. I don't know that they are any more likely to no deal to chase early high offers than just go on to achieve some kind of financial target they had in mind, or just the best return they can.

There's a heck of a lot of players who could have scored the maximum amount available to them by dealing at the 3rd offer, but only 3 of them have managed to do so!

1. Oli - £18,000 (won £5,000)
2. Leigh - £7,500 (won £3,500)
3. Becky - £24,000 (won £20,000)
4. Angela - £22,700 (won £21,000)
5. Nick - £9,000 (won 1p)
6. Pat - £8,400 (won £3,000)
7. Robbie - £16,000 (won £5,500)
8. Marie - £30,000 (won £4,000)
9. Jim R - £18,000 (won £500)
10. Steve - £13,005 (won £7,000)
11. Cathy - £14,000 (won £8,000)
12. Dave E - £10,150 (won 1p)
13. Pat M - £17,500 (won £1,000)
14. Susie - £10,000 (won £6,125)
15. James - £14,700 (dealed)
16. Joan - £20,000 (won 10p)
17. Carlton - £15,000 (won £10)
18. Teresa - £8,000 (won £10)
19. Bianca - £10,000 (won £2,000)
20. Melanie - £30,000 (dealed)
21. Amy - £20,000 (won £9,950)
22. Janelle - £12,000 (won £5,000)
23. Sally - £18,800 (won 1p)
24. Connell - £18,004.50 (won 1p)
25. Debbie - £10,000.01 (won £250)
26. Lindsay - £12,500 (won £500)
27. Sarah - £20,000 (won £50)
28. Rob - £20,000.10 (won £3,500)
29. Alan - £17,001 (won £11,000)
30. Jo - £20,250 (won £500)
31. John - £17,500 (won £1)
32. Shell - £13,013 (won £10,000)
33. Peter - £15,000 (won £3,500)
34. Trev - £20,000 (won £14,000)
35. Lisa - £14,000 (won £100)
36. Harry - £20,000 (dealed)

Of those 36, there's more of a concentration towards recent games as well - 5 in the last week! Nearly half of these were complete disasters as well, and early high offers mean more people chasing losses!

Glad to see those put up, evidence largely in favour of my suggestion that there are plenty of players who chase their losses after big early offers and many have disasters from there.

I should have put up those whose highest offers, and most available in the game, were the first and second rounds. I think we're getting closer to a 2nd round deal!

There have been more first offers in excess of £10,000 already this month than in any other month in the history of DOND. I have listed the highest ever first round offers in this stats thread:
http://www.dond.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?p=183632#183632

In this other thread I posted stats for games that involved 2nd and/or 3rd round offers that were £15,000 or more:
