I make that, out of the 37 players who have dealt at the 3rd offer to be: 9 OPWs, 8 TPWs, 9 TBWs and 11 OBWs - meaning the player has won overall on 17 occasions, and the banker has won on 20 occasions.

Anne-Marie's was an OBW because she had £15k in her box. It would only have been a draw if her box had been less than she dealt at.

And I like that there've been 22...they should bring them all back to make wakey's nightmare line-up. :-D

Having seen these stats, I'd probably be looking for 8-box as the cautious time to go, of the 3rd round deals, only really Paul D and James wouldn't have had a get-out for anything handsome (that's assuming the proveout offers are genuine)! Would the likes of Melanie and Harry have cut their losses at 8-box if they'd carried on though? I think they'd have more likely chased their losses and had a disaster! :)

If I played, it's very likely I'd go past 11-box, but not past 5-box!

That is interesting; a 27% OPW rate from eleven-box Deals can't be far away from the OPW rate from any other exit point! (That would be an interesting stat to have actually... the OPW/TPW/TBW/OBW percentages for Deals at each point, along with the OPW/OBW percentages for players taking the box!)

I find it quite surprising (and knowing some people's opinions on here should it ever happen, a relief) that despite 22 3rd offer deals, not one has ended with £250,000 at the table.

OPW - Outright Player Win - When the player deals at the peak offer of the game and what they have dealt at is greater than the amount their box contains. It is also an OPW if the player no deals to the end, and the amount in the box is higher than the peak offer of the game.

OBW - Outright Banker Win - When the player deals and what they have dealt at is less than the amount their box contains. It is also an OBW if the player no deals to the end, and the amount in the box is lower than the peak offer of the game.

TPW - Technical Player Win - When the player deals and the amount they dealt at is more than 50% of the peak offer of the game. The amount in their box must be less than what they dealt at.

TBW - Technical Banker Win - When the player deals and the amount they dealt at is less than 50% of the peak offer of the game. The amount in their box must be less than what they dealt at.

OPL - Outright Player Loss - When the player deals at the lowest offer of the game and their box amount is greater than what they dealt at.

Am I right in saying that if a player no deals to the end, it's either an OPW or an OBW?

Hahah, H beat me to it by a couple of minutes. But yeah, going to the end means it's an outright win one way or another - technical wins can only come from deals.

There've also been three "Technical Draws", where the player's taken exactly 50% of the highest offer and had less in their box.

Do Nalini and Margaret's games class as Outright Draws? They went onto the end and won an amount that was exactly the same as their peak offer.

I was wondering about those two - and I think the answer is "yes" - but as someone pointed out, had the £20,000 offer been £19,999.99 or £20,000.01 in Margaret's game for example, then things would be different - it's finely balanced! You could say that they got the maximum money out of the game so it should be classed as an OPW!

Yeah, I'd argue that they should be OPWs. They couldn't really have played it any better so it makes sense that they should be.

What's interesting about the 3rd round deals is that over half of these, 13 of the 23 so far to be precise, accepted offers of £20,000 or more. For many people £20,000 might be the kind of target that is walking money. It is certainly not an amount to be dismissed lightly for most people! :D Jeff dealt at £30,000 admittedly with a very good board, but only one other person has dealt at the 3rd round for a higher sum of money, Paul H for £40,000.

From the look of those stats, if you wanted a good game from dealing at the third offer you need to deal for over £20k. Out of the 11 banker wins only 3 have been over £20,000 but out of the 14 player wins only 4 have been under £20,000.

Now updated this to include the first third-offer deal since Mark in June 2007.

Also, Sarah seems to be a name to have if you want to do a third-offer deal! :P

David's is an OBW not a TBW.

Good stuff, they're all disasters.
