There are a lot of players who should have gone at the second offer but play on out of some sense that dealing at second offer, 'isn't the done thing', only to then deal feeble offers later on.

If you're that target oriented you may as well go when the target is reached.

I agree - obviously I'd like to see players attempt the big money more but it would make more sense if they took the 1st or 2nd offer then headed off than dragging it out.

Or if you going to be a coward who is wanting to run at the second offer but daren't and so deals the third regardless anyway just don't bother coming on the show! *cough Richard*
