Actually, that's not quite true... or is it? I thought it would be quite interesting to see how many people had dealt/ no dealt over the course of the last 668 shows (love week not counted yet!). I should say first of all that shows 312 and 548 are not included. I do have all the round details, but here's a quick stats(man) attack!

Unsurprisingly, 0 contestants have dealt in the first two rounds.
Overall, 72.52% of contestants have dealt at some point in their game (or 483 contestants).
222 contestants have dealt at round-of-five (33.33%). 83 of these gained an OPW by doing so (37.39%).
36 have swapped their box and opened it at the end. 7 achieved OPWs by doing so.
In nearly 166 games, it has been best to go at round-of-5 (24.89%)
In 144 games, it has been best to go to the end with your original box.

So... is coming to "play the game" the best strategy? Only 22% of the time on average. And (to answer a previous thread question), will someone go at the 2nd offer? Well, it's now nearly 55 games (8.22%) where they'd have been absolutely right to do so...

Diplomatic voting so far, I see. Mind you, I'd expect most to fit in that bracket, but it's surprising how many players will "play the game" to the end, and what will be will be, and others who write targets down, and pretty much stick to them, even if the board is showing great strength. It's that variety of players (at least in past) that has kept Deal or No Deal interesting.

I put the somewhere in between, as I'd (hopefully) be an analyst if I went on.

Failing that, I'd rather be a targetist than a wakeyist...

I'd play the board, no target, no ambition to go to the end.

Somewhere imbetween for me

With me, I'm also inbetween.

In the last few months, there have been games where because of the mood I was in at the time, I'd have been foolish enough to play on to the end because I was in a confident mood, whereas other days I'd not be feeling as confident and would have taken a KP-esque approach to the game.

I'm neither a Targetist or a Wakeyist and possibly not even somewhere in between those options in that I play the game based upon the offers as related to the odds. Having said that I would be very reluctant to deal before 8 box because for the sake of an entertaining show and a good result I wouldn't want to deal and then hear Noel say something like "come back after the break and see if Rico was right to deal!"

In between. And i'd rather be a targetist than a wakeyist.

I would be on the show with the aim of gaining a nice sum of money, not neccessarily to play on all the way.

I would be playing the game, but once it got to the mid 5-figures, it would be hard to turn down, even given a strong board unless the banker threw in one of those ridiculously low offers...

Wakeyist- with £50,000 being the point at which I'd start to get wary of pushing on.

(Don't shoot me KP!!)

I'm somewhere in between, although quite worryingly starting to edge towards Wakeyism, though I'm not close to being one yet.
