Oh, I read that Ferrero was in the top 10, but he's actually about 70th or something. Seeing as he's not even near the top of the list then yes, Andy Murray theoretically should stand a good chance against him.

He's a former world number one, just like Hewitt and Roddick; the latter is still the sixth best in the world.

Yes! It was certainly a tense match and great to watch. The record-breaking late finish made it even more special in a strange way.

I must admit I'll be surprised if Andy Murray gets into the semi-finals, but you never know.

Why? Co he's British and therefore he won't make the semis?

Being British is usually the first step to failure in sport yes.

Murray looks tired and lackluster and that stumble hasnt helped anything. This is going to be tough.

Mervyn King, governor of the Bank of England, is sitting in the audience for this match... shouldn't he be doing something more important like trying to aid the recovery of the economy?

Well, Murray won 7-5, 6-3, 6-2. Quite a comprehensive victory, and will face either Andy Roddick or Lleyton Hewitt in the Semis.

I think he was playing a clever mental game there.... he'd better not do the whole 'oooh I'm injured' ploy again.

Murray will have been pleased that Rodd ick was taken to 5 sets by Hewitt. I would have been a bit annoyed if I had been in the crowd on Centre today, all the action was over by 5 this evening.

I agree, I would have much preferred to be on court 1. Tommy Haas upsetted Novak Djokovic and Roddick and Hewitt had an excellent match. Federer and Murray just beat their respective opponents in straight sets. All the excitement was on court 1 today.

Well Roddick beats Murray.

I must admit, Roddick is looking good, very sharp, but I still think Federer will win. I'd love for Roddick to do the upset. It took Rafa Nadal 3 Wimbledon finals to beat Federer, could be the same for Roddick too?

One of the all time classic finals!

Federer has confirmed his status as the best ever, but for fighting quality you have to hand it to Andy Roddick.
At least he has a Grand Slam under his belt winning the US Open in 2003 which is just as well as Federer and then Nadal really got going after then.

Murray is not far away from a Slam. I think he has a good chance in the US Open where he will be under less pressure than Wimbledon.

Well the hard surface is Murray's favourite, he's going to easily play his best tennis in the US Open for sure!

You have to to hand it to Roddick today though; he followed up his best ever performance against Murray with yet another amazing performance today, and it ALMOST paid off. Federer on the other hand, never losing his cool; saving four set points by winning six straight points to win that tie break...and then hang on to break Roddick in the longest fifth set I've ever seen! Amazing stuff!

And now Federer is back where he belongs...as of tomorrow he is World Number One yet again!

Another extraordinary final to follow last year, no amount of words that describe that epic of a match! Got to feel sorry for Roddick who put in another amazing performance after beating Murray, and it must be gutting to lose a match where you have lost serve less than your opponent, and the only time you get broken is in the final 77th game!

...and now for a controversial comment: Serena played 21 games yesterday to beat Venus 7-6, 6-2, but gets the same prize money as Federer today who played 77 games to win 5-7, 7-6, 7-6, 3-6, 16-14. I know they care more abouts the trophies and the prestige, but there's something wrong there isn't there...?

Andy Roddick played one hell of a game didnt he, he gave it all he had and made Federer work bloody hard for his win.

I for am rather shocked that Federer is 27.... seriously???? That man looks about ten years older then that.

The debate about the male and female winners getting the same amount has been going on for years. I remember when Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf won and she obviously won less money, people argued it was sexist but others argued that women play less sets so therefor dont deserve as much.

What do u all think?

There's an idea of women getting to play best-of-5 sets in Grand Slam tournaments (the big four basically; Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon and the US Open)...that might work...then again it might not!

As of today, here's the top 10 ATP and WTA rankings:

ATP (Men's):

1 - Roger Federer (SUI) - 11,220 pts
2 - Rafael Nadal (ESP) - 10,735 pts
3 - Andy Murray (GBR) - 9,450 pts
4 - Novak Djokovic (SRB) - 8,150 pts
5 - Juan Martin Del Potro (ARG) - 5,705 pts
6 - Andy Roddick (USA) - 5,440 pts
7 - Gilles Simon (FRA) - 4,000 pts
8 - Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (FRA) - 3,600 pts
9 - Fernando Verdasco (ESP) - 3,500 pts
10 - Fernando Gonzalez (CHI) - 3,185 pts

WTA (Women's):

1 Dinara Safina (RUS) - 10,521 pts
2 Serena Williams (USA) - 8,758 pts
3 Venus Williams (USA) - 6,617 pts
4 Elena Dementieva (RUS) - 6,591 pts
5 Svetlana Kuznetsova (RUS) - 6,071 pts
6 Jelena Jankovic (SRB) - 5,980 pts
7 Vera Zvonareva (RUS) - 5,400 pts
8 Victoria Azarenka (BLR) - 5,066 pts
9 Caroline Wozniacki (DEN) - 4,780 pts
10 Nadia Petrova (RUS) - 3,300 pts

Not bad for a Women's World Number One who's won...Miami? :-D

Well Federer now has two more reasons to be proud; twin daughters Myla Rose and Charlene Riva were born on Thursday night! :D
