Did anybody see this last night???

Getting away with a yellow card was disgraceful!!

(If you didnt heres what happenned - while Mendes tryed to clear the ball thatcher chardges in with a high foot and and elbow into the side of Mendes head, he then let Mendes slide head first into advertising barrier and then ran off. He was taken to hospital and was still unconcious this morning, they are now checking for spinal damage)

Any thoughts

That tackle is exactly the reason why Mr. Gallagher should have retired as expected last year.

Hmm, I dunno. It's hard to say if he would have made the correct decision last year too. If Uriah Rennie can't award Everton a blatant penalty like he should have vs Blackburn, I think it's more to do with incompetence than age.

The refereeing standard so far has been woeful in general. Peter Walton was disgraceful on Saturday, Alan Wiley made a bad error, Dermot Gallagher made a dreadful decision yesterday, Styles made a bad call for the penalty on Saturday, Lee Mason got the RC wrong yesterday, Andre Marriner should have sent off Brown on Sunday, Halsey should have sent off Riggott on Saturday, Howard Webb shouldn't have sent off Traore on Saturday, Phil Dowd should have disallowed the first Bolton goal on Saturday and of course, Uriah Rennie was appalling last night. To have so many bad decisions in just 2 rounds of the Premiership is truly shocking. I hope Everton finally get a decent refereeing performance from Mr. Halsey on Saturday.

Isn't it an unwritten law that Premiership refs are rubbish? :-D

Nope, but they got rid of the best ref on the list, Matt Messias. Everyone else is rubbish, except for Foy.

And we never get Foy because he's from St Helens. I quite like Halsey, Wiley & Clattenburg, though.

12 mistakes in 18 matches isn't acceptable for the top league.

I personally like Foy (but he's an Evertonian), Rennie (because we hardly ever lose with him), and Dean (local bias!).

I think the linesmen should pick up some of the slack here. Especially with the handball that wasn't at Goodison on Saturday. Walton is a poor referee, though, so I'm not defending him but if the assistant couldn't see that, then we really are in trouble.

True, the Assistant Referees have been bad (especially Everton v Watford match), but most errors have to be put down to the referee.

With regard to hoping that we have a good performance from Halsey on Saturday, I don't think it'll matter - we always lose at White Hart Lane. :(

Yep, we have a shocking record there. Things can change. Let's hope the reffing standard raises as well in all matches this week. We don't want many more bad decisions to come. God help Man City and Arsenal who have the pleasure of Uriah on Saturday.

Well, the shocking record is at an end. First win at Tottenham for 21 years and by all accounts, we deserved it.

Disgusting "challange" by Ben Thatcher, not the first time he has done it either. The F.A need to make a spectacle of him in this instance, too many elbow/arm challanges in the game today.

Excellent win for Everton today, especially being a man down early on. White Hart Lane isn't the easiest place to go and get a result. Charlton picked up a massive 3 points today too.

I'm absolutely delighted with our win. Looks like more controversy though in the Charlton v Bolton match.
