I shall start with a piece From Autosport.....

Midland's Exclusion from the German GP for running flexible wings resulted from extreme tempratures weakening bonds between the elements, the team claims.

Both Midlands have been disqualified for running wings that showed excessive flexibility according to Race Stewards. Movable aerodynamic parts are banned under article 3.15 of the FIA Sporting Regulations, which stipulates that all aerodynamic parts must remain immobile in relation to the sprung part of the car.

The stewards statement said "It is the stewards' view that the car did not comply with the regulations because the lower wing element on both sides of each car has a significant degree of flexibility such that the rear part of the wing appears to bend in a downward directionalong a straight, predetermined line."

But Midland sources have told Autosport the wing flexing was inadvertent and occurred because glue that bonded the rear wing elements to the endplates had begun to melt through a combination of exhaust heat and ambient tempartures of 35C.

It claims the softened glue allowed the wings to move to a degree beyond what the FIA deemed to be legal.

I opened this as part of the National Unanswered Posts Celebrations and while I appreciate your passion for your sport....... I found myself unable to work out the point of a sport is so clearly won by the team with the most money.

But enough about the Premier League and money laundering...........

To be honest - the reason I stopped watching Formula 1 is exactly the same as football..... oh for a small team with a chance of winning the Drivers Championship....... never gonna happen is it?
