Does what it says on the tin: what are YOUR 10 sporting moments of the year?

I'll get the ball rolling...

1) Mark Webber in THAT crash in this year's F1 Championship
Red Bull were always tipped to do well in the 2010 F1 Championship, but nobody saw the incredible crash coming...after being clipped, Mark Webber's car was sent flying in the air before landing back down with a thud and finally stopping at a wall. Unbelievably, he wasn't severely injured! Too bad it was his co-driver Vettel who went on to win the Championship!

2) Phil Taylor throwing TWO 9-dart legs in the Premier League Darts Final
Throwing a perfect 9-dart leg is hard enough, but in his attempt to win back his Premier League crown this year from James Wade (who won it last year), he threw not one, but TWO 9-darters during the final: the first included a 174 and a 180, leaving him 147 to checkout with t20, t17, d18...the second was from two maximums then t20 t19 d12 to make history with a 141 finish! Suffice to say, he throughly deserved to win that final!

3) AP McCoy finally winning the Grand National
After 14 previous attempts, nobody deserved to win this year's big race than McCoy! The emotion showed from the jockey said it all...and led to him being the overwhelming favourite to win the BBC Sports Personality of the Year award for the entire remainder of the year...which he of course won in style!

4) Blackpool reaching the Promised Land
Either way, the Championship Play-Off Final was going to see a big surprise enter the Premier League for the 2010/11 season...Cardiff were beaten by Blackpool at Wembley, and saw them promoted back into the top flight after so long out of it! And look at how well they've done so far: 10th in the table from two games fewer than the surrounding teams, with 22 points: the same amount Liverpool currently have!

5) England becoming Twenty20 World Champions
England really were a force to be reckoned with in the cricketing world during the summer, and total glory was nothing short of what they deserved - recognition of their superlative performances!

6) The longest tennis match in history
Wimbledon 2010 saw history being made...the longest ever tennis match! Held in the first round between USA's John Isner and France's Nicolas Mahut, it went on for a mammoth 11 hours and 5 minutes! Isner won it 6-4, 3-6, 6-7 (7), 7-6 (3), 70-68!!

7) Andres Iniesta winning the World Cup for Spain
Spain won the 2010 FIFA World Cup with a 1-0 victory over the Netherlands in the Final (after extra time)...the goal was scored by Barcelona's Andres Iniesta, and his celebrations summed the whole thing up: jubilant to say the very least! Spain are now currently both European and World Champions, and top of the FIFA world rankings.

8) David Haye marking his name in the boxing world
David Haye had a brilliant 2010...but the most memorable moment of the year for him was his match against Audley Harrison. Everyone knew it was a mismatch, but when Haye knocked Harrison out in the third round after two rounds of dancing that would shame Anne Widdecombe, he stuck the boot in by saying he'd told his friends to bet on a third-round KO! Some accused him of match-fixing, but only because they knew Harrison could go in the first!

9) Europe regaining the Ryder Cup
After a few years of failure, Europe finally managed to win back the Ryder Cup, Graeme McDowell being the man who sealed the win for us! They won 14 1/2 - 13 1/2.

10) Ghana denied by Suarez's Hand of God in South Africa
Another World Cup story, and technically four events in one! Who could forget how Ghana were heartbroken as they were unfairly beaten by Uruguay in the quarter-finals on penalties? After Sulley Muntari and Diego Forlan scored for their respective teams, Ghana had what looked like a thunderous header head goal-wards, but Luis Suarez handled it on the line to keep it out! Yes he was sent off, but the resulting penalty, taken by Asamoah Gyan, hit the bar! Then during the penalty shootout (which Gyan converted his own penalty for the record!), Uruguay ripped the hearts out of every single South African watching the match as Sebastian Abreu won the shootout with a cheeky chip over Ghana's keeper Kingson!

My 10, in chronological order:

(1) Wales 31-24 Scotland in the Six Nations
But for two late sin-binnings, the Scots wouldn't have succeeded in snatching defeat from the jaws of victory at the Millennium Stadium...

(2) Tony McCoy finally breaking his Grand National duck
Deserved to be BBC Sports Personality of the Year after that.

(3) England winning the World Twenty20
Were unstoppable in the West Indies - and it was the first step towards their Ashes triumph.

(4) Blackpool's shock promotion
To realise just how big a shock it was, consider that they only just got into the Championship play-offs, then they had to come from behind twice against the Bluebirds...

(5) Robert Green's blunder
Sorry... but it was the moment when Fabio Capello's men showed that they weren't going to be all that good in South Africa.

(6) Isner v Mahut
Since odds are a big thing on this site, what were they on the final set being 70-68? ;)

(7) Suarez's Hand of God
An entire continent felt aggrieved afterwards...

(8) Europe's epic Ryder Cup triumph
The US led 6-4, then Europe led 9 1/2 - 6 1/2, then the Welsh rain forced proceedings into Monday, then the Americans took it to the last match of all, and to the 17th hole, before McDowell became a hero. Still very surprised that he got less BBC SPOTY votes than The Power...

(9) Chelsea 0-3 Sunderland
Seriously, who expected the Black Cats to get so much cream at Stamford Bridge?!

(10) Sebastian Vettel's unexpected F1 Championship triumph
It was going Button's way first, then Hamilton's, then Webber's, then Alonso's... Vettel was considered by seemingly few, and indeed he was a good bit behind Alonso, and behind Webber too, in the standings heading to Abu Dhabi...
