Well the World Cup Finals draw is made in less than 48 hours time...time to start thinking of what we'd like to see at the World Cup, as far as the England squad is concerned.

The only huge question mark is who will be preferred between the goalposts. There are the obvious half dozen candidates; which would you rather see be chosen?

(Try to be unbiased, Tom ;) )

Ben Foster appears to be Capello's immediate choice at the moment...but he's third-choice keeper at Manchester United; he MUST be playing regularly to stand any chance of being picked. Will probably end up in the squad at the very least.

Robert Green has been consistent when called upon...but he holds the unwanted record of being the ONLY England keeper to be sent off. He'll surely at least be on the plane to South Africa.

David James is Capello's preferred man between the posts. But it's very fair to say his age is finally starting to show; his latest knee injury is preventing him from training more than twice a week - he will be a couple months short of 40 years old by the time the World Cup arrives.

Joe Hart is now too old to play for the England U21s, being 22. He will surely be earning an England recall in the near future - the big question is whether or not Capello will take him to South Africa.

Chris Kirkland has only one England cap to his name, but he is one of the more consistent keepers in the Premier League. His clean sheet only this weekend just gone, a mere six days after conceding a mammoth NINE goals against Tottenham, is all the proof you need for that consistency.

Paul Robinson is in his prime now, at 30 years old. He was always a reliable choice in Steve McLaren's tenure, but we haven't seen him since. Has bags of experience at international level, so would be a good choice to at least be taken to South Africa.

I've chosen:

1st choice: David James (IF he manages to recover)
2nd choice: Robert Green
3rd choice: Ben Foster

If James isn't recovered, add Ben Foster to the bottom of the choices, moving the other two up one; Green being first choice.

Ben Foster wont play again between now and the World cup...
Robert Green is unreliable and thus very nervous to watch...
David James may as well retire...
Joe Hart is at least playing every week now but isnt brilliant yet. (I know it hurts me)
Chris Kirkland is crap.
Paul Robinson would be ok.

Sooooooo lets go...
1. Green
2. Robinson
3. Hart

Green is the best. His experience is lacking but so was Robbo's at the last major tournament.

As a Blackburn fan, and as much as I love Robbo, he has his dodgy moments, so I'd only like him to be there as third choice, behind second choice David James for his experience.

Ben Foster is decent, but doesn't play enough club football for my liking. Capello will pick him though, for definite. It'll be James, Foster and Green who go to South Africa.
