After another disappointing Grand Slam campaign hit a premature end yesterday, there is understandably a few people now doubting whether or not British No.1 Andy Murray will EVER win a Grand Slam tournament.

He's now aged 22...though that's still relatively young, the biggest counter to that argument is that Novak Djokovic, a year younger than Murray, has already won one (Australian Open 2008)...so what does it actually mean for arguably Britain's brightest tennis star for a long time?

There is no doubt; he IS world-class...but is he capable of being world-dominating? On his 2009 form, he's definitely on the up...but with his record in Grand Slam tournaments, it's arguable that he has only reached World No.2 ranking by winning so many three-set tournaments...though he has a dramatic record of five-set thrillers, it's also evident that he's just not as consistent in five-set tournaments...and that is what is costing him ultimate success!

I'm worried we may have another Henman...another almost-player...

Put it this way, Nadal and Federer are still in another league ahead of him...and many will now argue that he will now only ever win a Grand Slam if he doesn't have to face either...or of course recently someone like Roddick or Cilic doesn't pull out an absolute stormer of a match. The only solace for Murray I guess is that in both those defeats, he's brought out the VERY best of his opponents; I'd never seen Roddick play anywhere near as well when he beat Murray at Wimbledon...and Cilic was world-class yesterday!

Ramble over...do you think Andy Murray will ever win a Grand Slam? Or will his inconsistency in the five-set tournaments simply make him another almost-player?
