Of course, that's not a problem with the pirate ver... Erm, nevermind. Just... ignore this line. I don't have the pirate game.

It is really awkward coz it means you have to reload the game every time you want to play it - which can take a while!

And thanks NB - the STEAM folder was the one place I'd never expect to find it!

OK a note of reassurance:

You only have to use STEAM to download a verified copy of the game...once it's been downloaded, you can access it almost as easily as before, by heading into the C drive and loading it up from the Steam folder...NB probably knew that already though!

Must be said though, this is easily one of the worst game launches ever - several thousands of reported complaints over the verification process yesterday...

Well it was always going to be busy on the first day... wait a few days and I'd imagine the process would be alot smoother.

It's definitely the best FM by a country mile - I love the press conferences!

My only bugbite is that the matches run slightly slower than the previous games...even on 2D they take a lot longer to generate now...

I've had a play round with the editor and I've basically remade the England squad... but playing for Man U... (well it would be more work if it was Arsenal). I have had to sell Vidic, Tevez, Ronaldo.. etc but I have a pretty good team. Although my asistant believes I dont have enough strength for the Prem and I need more strikers...

I had to reformat my laptop yesterday, thus having to reinstall FM2009.

But I'm not allowed to - as Steam has already got the disc's activation code on file!!!

Can you not install it using the other option they give? I know mine didnt use Steam at all to install...

No, I went on my account and checked what games were on there - Half Life 2 and a few others were there, but no FM2009...

So in principle, they think I'm a thief... I can't be arsed to buy another version for now so I've just reinstalled FM2008 and downloaded the 2008/2009 patch.
