Russia bagged another gold though, so looks like they'll be finishing third in the table.

Hope we get these last few medals anyway - to put a cap on a glorious tournament for us!

Anyway, it's been a truly amazing Olympics for the Brits, it's the best gold medal haul for 100 years, which is some achievement.

Isn't it funny how our medal count has us at #1 while having far far less gold medals than the Chinese?

Unofficially of course but with the handball finals over and done with and the 302nd gold medal handed out the 2008 Beijing Olympic games are over!! They really should stretch it out for another week I'm missing it already....

The closing ceremony is about to start... and judging from BBC1's coverage of it so far, it sounds as though Mr. Blobby's in the stadium going mad. :eyes:

I like the way the London Olympics are going to be more 'humorous'... Boris is going to start today by either setting fire to his hair with the flame of falling over....

It was pretty good. I liked how they combined all of the traditional items associated with London / Britain (e.g. the Greenwich "pips", red buses, London Underground, rock music, football, rain, newspapers etc.) into a little 8-minute performance. Although I think the first half was better than the 2nd half.

I thought it was pretty good, though I wish someone would have just shot Will Young when he was singing... and why do we ALWAYS rely on the Red Arrows whenever anything is happening? Michael Phelps looked unamused.

i always wanted claude to enter the olympics in his electric wheelchair but i think that might be slightly against the rules hahahaha :laughing
