Is anyone looking forward to the Olympics?

I'm interested in certain events... but probably more interested to see how China cope with all the pollution problems which are due to affect events.

The 2012 Olympics in London should be interesting, actually they'll be quite close to me - just 2 stops along the railway line. :ponder: Maybe I could get a job at them in the summer of 2012. :!:

I'm not really bothered about the 2008 Olympics, but I am looking forward to the 2012 Olympics.

I'll be watching the badminton this year...Robertson and Emms were incredible in Athens and they've only upped their game since!

Yes, that's a very fast paced sport - always good to watch (and occasionally play). The Chinese are the ones to watch there.

Great opening ceremony. Four years to find a way to beat that.

I never normally bother watching these opening ceremonies but today, me and some mates were had just had a party so a fry-up at 1 in the afternoon was, of course, essential. Flicked the TV on, saw this was on and ended up watching the whole thing- it was simply stunning. Beautifully choreographed and brilliantly performed by all involved- there's no way London can match that.

After all, when we have to show examples of our culture, what we might as well have is two fat people sat on a couch shouting "consonant please Carol" at a TV

A 4 hours version of countdown would be an amazing opening ceremony  :P

In some strange way, it actually would. It doesn't matter anyway though, we won't get 204 countries turning up to our games... we'll be lucky to get 4 so we don't have to put on a flashy performance :P
