GB have got their first gold medal - in the women's bike marathon! 75 long miles through heavy rain (it's like being at home :roll:

)!

We've never even won one medal in that event before, but at least we're off the mark now.

I sat up all night watching the swimming on BBC1 last night and, to my amazement, I enjoyed every last minute of it... who'd have thought just a basic event could be so riveting!

The swimming this morning was amazing, first gold medal in the 400m for 48 years for Britain.

It was incredible.

Andy Murray losing his first set to a relatively unknown player though is even more incredible!

He's playing later in the Doubles with Jamie. But yeah.

I have to say that both swimming events (Women's 400m and Men's 4x100m) were brilliant to watch. Great to see Britain doing relatively well. It's a shame about Andy Murray but at least he won the doubles match with his brother. Slight consolation.

We were SO close to a gold in the K1 Slalom - but the last finalist pipped us by about a second and a half to snatch gold - a well-deserved silver in the end!

This is brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. I loved the opening ceremony last Friday. I agree with Red, it was beautifully choreographed.

What we will have in 2012? Dizzee Rascal singing a track of his new album? :roll:

I was getting right competitive about the showjumping then... :oops:

another Bronze for GB

We're doing well so far, better than I was expecting anyway, 2 golds, 1 silver and 3 bronze is a very respectable tally. However, I don't get competitive about any events, especially showjumping!

Has anyone else heard about the fact that the little girl singing the national anthem at the opening ceremony was miming?

Yeah I heard that on the 60 second update on BBC one just before Holby City. They said that the actual girl that sang it wasn't pretty enough. I'm sorry but that's just ridiculous and like so rude.
