Arguably two of the best tennis players of all time, at least this century...but now it looks like Roger Federer's reign over the pinnacle of the world's best is ending now that Rafael Nadal is ruling supreme in most of the Grand Slams instead of him now. Even Federer's favourite of the lot, Wimbledon, is now Nadal's.

But who do you think is the best of the two? When it comes down to talent, surely it's the Spaniard's name in all our minds. But when it comes to records on grass, surely it's still the Fed Express?

Nadal, because he beat Federer on grass, which is virtually impossible these days.

An easy choice here, Federer. He has so much more class than any other player. Some of the shots he pulls off are beyond belief.
Nadal tends to smack it from the baseline until the other player hits it out. I'd much rather watch Federer play than Nadal.

I dont know much about tennis apart from Wimbledon and the fact Nadal is immense on clay... and after that amazing final on Sunday it has to be Nadal.

This is a harder choice to make than it first seems.

Nadal is pretty much unbeatable on clay; Federer is pretty much unbeatable on grass. But over the last year and a half the difference between their ATP scores has been getting smaller and smaller. And now following Nadal's huge victory at SW19, the difference is now just 545!

Nadal is going to continue to improve, so it looks like he could easily claim world number one status very soon...BUT Nadal's game is played from the baseline and ends up breaking down pretty much anyone against him. With Federer, he is the master of drop shots (NOT Murray as my dad teased me earlier! :P), and can expertly return many difficult shots, especially up close to the net. That said, Nadal is the best at slicing the ball, especially towards the service line.

I'm still going to say Federer...but ask me again at the end of the calendar year for tennis! :P

Federer, subject to reanalysis at the end of the US hardcourt season.

That said, Nadal might well win most Grand Slams from here simply because his game is well-suited to beating Fed, and nobody else is on the same level, certainly on slower courts (Fed's an easy number two on clay, and there's nobody to compare to these two on grass which is not that dissimilar to clay nowadays). Nadal's weaker on hard courts and - critically - his vulnerability to injury is more exposed. If Nadal does well in the hardcourt season I'll say he's number one. Not yet though.
