I cannot see Hamilton getting anywhere near the world title this year based on the car's performance, albeit Kovaleinen did OK in the other McLaren. :?

I just can't believe the Braun cars are on the front line for tomorrow's race! Well done to Button for clinching pole!

I kept off the internet and had the TV off all morning avoiding what was happening in Melbourne and boy was it worth it! Best Qualifying session for years! Come on Button! Come on Rubens! Come on Vettel! (Who doesnt like Vettel?!)

Also sad news that Hamilton is now 18th after the Toyotas have been demoted back down to the back... should be some good racing!

Also more hearings going on about the legality of other cars...

That qualifying session was brilliant, and am loving the BBC coverage, it's making me love this sport again.

You cannot beat a bit of early morning racing!

Great start for Button and Vettel and they are trading fastest laps now which is brilliant pure racing! Hamilton putting KERS into force overtaking Piquet (I'm glad they didnt make it compulsory).

Passing and racing everywhere. Brilliant!

Hamilton on the podium as well?!?! How on earth?

Looked like the tyre hit Kubica on the head as he crashed as well...

Well done to Button - and indeed to Hamilton for finishing so well (even without the penalties handed out around for him to finish 3rd)

British pride either way!

Sir Richard Branson might be putting in more money to Brawn now, maybe even take over the name! :D

Hamilton getting a podium is an amazing achievement for a car which is well past its sell by date. Even if it was because of others - you take luck as it comes and he certainly didn't wait for his luck to turn bad.

And well done to Button also. :)

Hamilton has lost his Aussie points for the incident under the safety car after new evidence.

Whats the point in racing when none of it matters until the week after in the courts? :?

I remember seeing somewhere that Hamilton may have got the order to let Trulli past...

It's a shame he's been stripped of all his points, I think promoting Trulli back to third and demoting Hamilton back to 4th would have been much fairer.

IMO if you cheat you cheat and thats it whether its my total favourite Alonso or whether its the one I can't stand Hamilton and you get punished accordingly. HOWEVER, it should be on the day and after the race is over the points should stand and it shouldn't be about technicalities afterwards. Its getting mad the way things are going it used to be about racing, now its just about who can backstab whom first. Ridiculous..... but i'll still be watching :laughing

One hell of a good race! Red flag out at the moment as the Indian ocean has just been dumped on the circuit! Good times!

What would this have meant under Bernies win system? Half a win?
