"Big Phil" Scolari is the latest name to be unveiled as a candidate wanted by Chelsea.

Forest have landed Rob Earnshaw at last! :D

The deal cost £2.65million...and is sure to get the number 11 jersey woo!

Looking at other transfer news...

Portsmouth want Peter Crouch upfront with Jermain Defoe (I can see it working too! :) ), and Stoke are after Marlon Harewood.

The latter being a former Red, I'd love to see him at my backed club for next season! :D

Keane is linked with Chelsea. He's staying put though.

Roy or Robbie? Because neither will leave! :-D

Rotherham's 101-year stint at Milmoor is over; they are relocating to the Don Valley Stadium in Sheffield beause they couldn't afford to keep their ground.

Oooooh, just down the road from Meadowhall... :P

AC Milan have rejected an approach from Chelsea for their manager Carlo Ancelotti.

And Fabio Capello has chosen the captain for tomorrow's England friendly against Trinidad & Tobago....BECKHAM! :D :D :D

Hart and Ashton will also start...£500,000 coming Shrewsbury's way! :D

3-0 wasnt too bad of a result all things considered. Hart came on and Shrewsbury are now richer, he didnt have a great game but kept a clean sheet which is all that counts.

Mark Hughes is the favourite to take the manager's job at Eastlands.

Jose Mourinho is finally back in work; not surprising news though, he's the new Internazionale manager.

Barnsley striker Istvan Ferenczi is set to join Forest...ooooh!

Blackburn Rovers have given Manchester City permission to speak to Mark Hughes now, following his comments that he wants to manage a big club.

In other words, he's bound to join!

Gretna have no money left now - all staff have been made redundant.

The only hope for the club to survive is this one sole bid for the club...I don't think it's going to happen though...

Spot on Davey, the bid has fallen through as the Scottish league relegated Gretna to the 3rd division last week and the bid was in the condition they would be in first division next season. So the ground has now been put up for sale and the administrators will tell the Scottish league tomorrow that they will not be able to fulfill their fixtures next season....so thats it all over for them.

So the Scottish league will invite other clubs to apply to replace them and there are 4 or 5 clubs waiting to apply for the 1 league place.

Unbelievable!

After THREE straight promotions, the rise of Kenny Deuchar, and a place in last season's Scottish Cup Final, it is just so hard to think that a mere problem such as not having a good enough stadium could bankrupt them!

It's amazing...

That wasn't the problem really though. The club had been funded for the past few years by one man (Brooks Mileson) and he is now seriously ill and the funding was stopped completely a few months ago. The ground they had was never big enough for SPL football as was probably about the size of a lower league ground, so having to groundshare about 80 miles away meant a very small fan base and little or no gate receipts.

It looks more like the rise through the leagues was too fast for them and they had no backup provision in the event of Brooks being unable to continue funding them.

I hope someone manages to put together a new club for the local people at least - sure the fans will get something together even without an investor, most clubs that go out of business have been revived in some form or other and some have come back strongly like Accrington and Aldershot. I suppose a new Gretna club would probably go back to playing in the lower levels of the English pyramid like they did before.

Two HUGE managerial stories:

Mark Hughes has agreed terms with Manchester City and is now imminent to join after Blackburn and City already agreed on a compensation package.

And Chelsea have confirmed their new manager will be AC Milan genius Carlo Ancelotti!!!

In other words...expect Kaka to be plying his trade at the Bridge next season! :D

Transfer news...Manchester United have completed the signing of Cardiff City wonderkid Aaron Ramsay for £4.5million, with Ramsay allowed to stay at Cardiff for another season on loan!

Thierry Henry got his 100th cap tonight in France's 1-0 win over Columbia.

Brilliant news; with only a few more possible games in which he could have done it before retiring from international football after te European Championships, I wonder how many more he'll clock up now!
