Jimmy Mullen is the new Walsall manager!

And Mark Schwarzer has rejected a new contract at Middlesbrough and has now left the club...to join Fulham!

He rejected Bayern and Juve!

So who will be playing Premier League football for the first time? Bristol City or Hull???

Some big stories today:

As expected Ian Holloway has left Leicester City.

Joe Lewis, the Peterborough goalie...has been CALLED UP TO THE ENGLAND SQUAD!

No word yet on Chelsea's official website about this tosh in The Sun today that Avram Grant was sacked last night :?

Hull was the largest city in the UK to have never had a football team in the top flight...

BUT NOT ANYMORE!!!

Hull City are in the Premier League!

Bad luck Bristol...exceeding FAR beyond all expectations...but they will be back in the Championship next season! :(

Now he HAS gone! :D :D :D

Former Barcelona boss Frank Rijkaard is the bookies' favourite to take over!

Phft that is completely ridiculous... go to the Champions League Final, 2nd in the Premier League and a League Cup, how can that not be good enough?!

I strongly dislike Chelsea but I feel sorry for Grant :?

ITA - he deserved to stay after getting to the Champions League Final and taking the title race in the League to the last day.

Fergie and Wenger seem to be the only managers who are guaranteed their jobs these days...and they're not getting any younger! Once they've gone, the career of a football manager will never be the same again! :(

Hull rock but Stoke are going to do better next year! :P

Man Citys stadium held the largest capacity it has ever done and the largest attendance for a boxing match at 56,000 packed into Eastlands, quite an atmosphere!

Seating capacity is 48,000 so you're telling me they had another 8,000 on the ground as WELL as a boxing ring?

Wow!

And yes, Stoke City I'm tipping for big things!

Every season I get myself to pick one of the three promoted clubs to do the best in the League, and should all three go back down, then it'd be who finished 18th.

2004-5 season I backed West Brom - they pulled off The Great Escape!

2005-6 season I backed Wigan - although West Ham finished higher than them, they still finished in the top half in their first ever season in the Premiership!

2006-7 season I backed Reading - only just missed out on European football!!!

2007-8 season I backed Sunderland - they didn't do as well as I predicted them to but they did finish qute impressively!

And yes, 2008-9 season I'm backing Stooooooooooooooooooke!

An hour gone at Wembley in the League One Play-Off Final:

Doncaster lead Leeds 1-0 through James Hayter!

Well I think we all know who is going to be the runaway winners of League One next season when they start on 0 points with everyone else!

Because Doncaster are in the Championship! :D

A season of misery completed for Leeds! :o

Kris Commons has signed a contract with Derby...not a good day to be a Forest fan! :(

Turning our heads though now to the last game of the English football season; what is normally the Championship Play-Off Final, this year it is the League Two Play-Off Final!

Stockport or Rochdale? Who will be playing in League One next season?

IMO we've just had a brilliant footie season;

The FA Cup, great year for the underdog, Barnsley were awesome.

Permiership, very entertaining season, not settled until the last day, Man Utd worthy champions.

Championship, incredibly close all year, great to see Stoke and Hull get a shot at the Premiership.

Plenty of excitement in the lower leagues and the Blue Square.

Play-offs, still one to go, but they have all been great matches so far.

Champions League, a very entertaining all english final, 10 British players on the pitch.

I say roll on 2008/2009.

Just 45 minutes left of the 2007/8 season:

Half time at Wembley, and it's 1-1 between Stockport and Rochdale

Stockport got promoted 3-2 but as we beat them this season surely Shrewsbury should go up instead?!
