Hate them.

A few years ago, we had one that lasted around a day.
I think it was just before Christmas.

Last year, when we were on holiday in a cottage, there was one even worse than the one above.
For some reason the fire alarm went 'Beep Beep Beep' all through the night.

(Not a Power Cut but a Power Failure.)
We spent last Christmas in London.
Before we left we had left the central heating on.
We expected it to be warm when we got home.
No.
The boiler wasn't on.
We discovered that the fuse blew.
We put another fuse in.
10 minutes later..... BANG.
It blew again.
We tried that with more fuses but the same thing happened.
We ended up using nearly all the fuses in our local DIY shop.
We eventually got an expert in and discovered that there was a leak.

Another Power Cut.
We went to London again in January.
When we got back home we found out that our estate was in the middle of a day long Power Cut.
We went shopping the day before we left for London so the fridge and freezer were full up.
What happened?
We had to bin everything in the fridge and freezer due to the Power Cut.
Because of that we wasted about £100.

I hate all types of powercut really, but the ones that just randomly happen, they annoy me. the ones that happen in a thunderstorm are better because they're predictable and only usually last for about 1- seconds - 5 mins.

There was one at the end of last month but was only in the morning. I was on a bus so I didn't really care as it didn't affect me.

I was on the big wheel in Manchester last night .

halfway through our trip the power went out on the whole thing. We were about 20feet up. I was absolutely cacking it - it was only out for a few minutes but it was well scary !!

i hate power cuts !!!

Oooh, my friend wanted to go on that the other day, but I refused as I'm a big wimp and was scared that it would break...turns out I might have been right.

I actually quite enjoy power cuts. I remember one when we had NOTHINg for the whole night.

I spent the night watching people outside my house with torches doing some crazy stuff. Drugs probably.

I don't like fairground rides either. In my first year at uni, I went to the travelling fair that arrives every year. I was watching the rollercoaster, trying to find a good reason not to go on it when it suddenly stopped moving while everyone was upside down. I didn't need a reason after that.

I shouldn't have said that.
It blew last night and it's not the same problem.
Me and my family are freezing cold.
It better be fixed by Christmas...............

It took me about 15 days to sort it out last time.

Tech support call:

"Word Perfect Technical Desk, may I help you?"

"Yes, well, I'm having trouble with Word Perfect."

"What sort of trouble?"

"Well, I was just typing along, and all of a sudden the words went away."

"Went away?"

"They disappeared."

"Hmm. So what does your screen look like now?"

"Nothing."

"Nothing?"

"It's blank; it won't accept anything when I type."

"Are you still in Word Perfect, or did you get out?"

"How do I tell?"

"Can you see the C: prompt on the screen?"

"What's a sea-prompt?"

"Never mind. Can you move the cursor around on the screen?"

"There isn't any cursor: I told you, it won't accept anything I type!"

"Does your monitor have a power indicator?"

"What's a monitor?"

"It's the thing with the screen on it that looks like a TV.

"Does it have a little light that tells you when it's on?"

"I don't know."

"Well, then look on the back of the monitor and find where the power cord goes into it. Can you see that?"

"Yes, I think so."

"Great. Follow the cord to the plug, and tell me if it's plugged into the wall."

".......Yes, it is."

"When you were behind the monitor, did you notice that there were two cables plugged into the back of it, not just one?"

"No."

"Well, there are. I need you to look back there again and find the other cable."

"Okay, here it is."

"Follow it for me, and tell me if it's plugged securely into the back of your computer."

"I can't reach."

"Uh huh. Well, can you see if it is?"

"No."

"Even if you maybe put your knee on something and lean way over?"

"Oh, it's not because I don't have the right angle-it's because it's dark."

"Dark?"

"Yes-the office light is off, and the only light I have is coming in from the window."

"Well, turn on the office light then."

"I can't."

"No? Why not?"

"Because there's a power outage."

"A power... A power outage? Aha, Okay, we've got it licked now. Do you still have the boxes and manuals and packing stuff your computer came in?"

"Well, yes, I keep them in the closet."

"Good. Go get them, and unplug your system and pack it up just like it was when you got it. Then take it back to the store you bought it from."

"Really? Is it that bad?"

"Yes, I'm afraid it is."

"Well, all right then, I suppose. What do I tell them?"

"Tell them you're too stupid to own a computer."

HAHAHA we had one about a hour and a half ago here. So I had to go to the JEC with my dad just to look at air con and also internet data centre featuring play.com and barcleys. Oh and to reset some stuff.

Fortunately it wasn't as bad as the one 3 months ago where if it lasted 8 more minutes, the Jersey Electricity company would be out of business and have a few lawsuits on them. Well how true it is I'm not sure probably over the top as a staff flame session was threatening on my source

What a Christmas day it turned out to be and well it could have been the worst ever but thankfully not.

We had one during DOND today when the 1p went.

I was horrified! I was panicking like mad, I was doing solo commentary on BB, videoing it and DVDing it, and suddenly I'm in complete darkness. Luckily it came back after a few minutes, but it still meant that my recording was ruined. Am gonna have to record the More4 repeat on Friday.
