I think these are hilarious provided they don't happen to me. You know, a situation where you say or do something embarrassing in public and want the ground to open up. Has anyone experienced anything like that?

I remember my cousin once booting a man up the arse, thinking it to be his dad.......but it was in fact just a complete stranger. Oh how we laughed. The man didn't find it so funny, though.

I've been reading a similar thread over on DS - ( http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/show ... p?t=495453 ) - and some of them have had me in hysterics. Especially this one: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/show ... stcount=56

So, anybody care to share?

Not as much as hoping the ground would open up, but nearly.

When I was about to cross the road, a car was waiting. He was actually telling me to cross, but I just stood there for about 30 seconds doing nothing. When I finally moved, the car did as well, and the driver sounded the horn really loud. I felt *beep*.

I was once voted as a school council rep in primary school *Waits for applause* And in the whole school assembly, I had to go up and collect my badge. So anyway, I was one of the eldest reps, so I was left until near the end of the list, and when he called my name, I couldn't stand up. I don't know why, but my legs just didn't seem to work, and the whole hall turned round to watch as the people sitting next to me tried to push me up off the floor, but I just couldn't stand up. So in the end the headmaster just said "It's alright Natalie, you can come and collect your badge at the after assembly."

So, the whole school was just sitting there laughing, it was awful. Plus, my mates from primary school still tease me about it today :(

When I was in primary, year 4 or something, there was something going on [i can't remember what] and the class had to go home at lunchtime [our houses were literally down the road] and come back in non-uniform. I forgot this, and stayed at school for lunch. When I walked into the class, everyone there was laughing their heads off and the teacher took a few minutes to calm people down...

Mmm, I remember being little and running up and hugging who I thought was my dad...you get where this one is going.

Also, last Christmas, reaching out to shake the hand of someone who'd had a stroke and whose arm was paralysed. :? That was awkward.

In the early days of going out with my boyfriend and having never really met his extended family, I went round to his sister's house, where his brother-in-law's relative was looking after their children. As we arrived, the relative left, to which I asked my boyfriend's sister "Was that your mother-in-law?"

It was in fact, his cousin, who was twenty years younger than his mother.

Thank goodness she didn't hear, but it was a bit cringeworthy to say the least!

(hope you understood that story!)

I was at a conference when my mobile rang. I'd turned it off but didn't realise it was set to automatically turn itself on, so I was convinced that it was someone else's phone so I didn't answer it, even though someone behind me told me it was my phone. In wanting to believe it was someone else's mobile I was digging myself into a deeper hole. The whole conference was able to know that I was the culprit after my phone had rang for an uncomfortably long time! So embarrassing!! :D

I had one like that, I was voted Head Girl so had to go and collect my badge (my school was age 4 to 18) so I climbed over the younger children to get to the front and one little boy put his head in the way of my leg and i tripped over him and landed with his head stuck up my skirt, he was 5 and i was 16, not a oretty site for him.
