I broke my tooth on Saturday morning (no idea how) and now my tooth keeps stabbing my tongue and it really hurts and I cant eat properly.

I phoned my dentist only to be told I have to wait 2 weeks to be seen, how am I supposed to wait that long?

I know how u feel as I chipped my wisdom tooth last year leaving a very sharp and spikey bit.

I had to wait about 4 weeks before they removed it .(the dentist prob did me a favour as it was causing me problems anyways). Don't worry they won't remove your tooth though unless it's a wisdom tooth!

The chipped tooth kept on stabbing my tongue as well but slowly I got used to it but it did take time & it's certainly not plesant.

Honestly Maudy you'll be fine. I know it's a pain but if I can manage to wait a month you will be ok.

I know it's a hinderence though and I am thinking of u.

aww Caz thanks hun, I would rather they removed my tooth as it's always been a problem, I need to have root cananl on it but havent had a chance to get to the dentist.

My main problem is that it really kills when I eat and I'm just fed up of it.

I know how u feel hun.

From what you've said it seems like your best option is to have the tooth removed as it would be far less painful by the sounds of it and a lot cheaper.

You should be grateful you even have a dentist! I'm one of the millions in this country not on the list of a dentist at all. If anything happens to my teeth I'm basically ****** !!

The worst thing is the expense. Private treatment costs a fortune. You're not wrong in your observations. Good luck with it! If it's really bad you could always go to the hospital in the meantime and see the emergency dentist there. They should have one. That's what we had to do once on a weekend, when mum's regular dentists surgery was closed and couldn't wait till Monday for treatment.

Mickey - Im lucky as a new one opened round here and I got in there quick, I rememeber phoning quite a few when i first moved here but they were all full.

I might go to the emergency dentist at the hospital as I know they will just remove it and I think i would rather that and dont wish to wait 2 weeks for it, ta Mickey you are a star

Well my dentist is still refusing to see me so I will ring again in morning and if they say no then I I have the numbers for 2 dental access centres my way.

Hope you're managing to get it sorted Jodie. Sounds like the best thing is to go to the emergency dentist, that's if you don't mind losing the tooth of course.

It's so horrible having problems with teeth, I feel for you hunnie. *big hugs*

Cant do anything until the morning, I'm gonna ring my dentist and if they still say no i will go to the hospital one, I really dont care if the tooth goes, It's at the back anyway.
