According to http://www.xe.com :

$1 = .53p!
£1 = $1.88!

Wow, I never truly realized just how far distant our currencies are until just now!

I wonder why the US Dollar is so far distant from the UK Pound? I thought America was the greatest country on Earth?! (I have to say that just in case the government is monitoring my computer!)

MOUHAHA

Ahem

Rule, Britannia

When Britain first, at heaven's command,
Arose from out the azure main,
Arose, arose, arose from out the azure main,
This was the charter, the charter of the land,
And guardian Angels sung this strain:

Rule Britannia!
Britannia rule the waves.
Britons never, never, never shall be slaves.

The nations, not so blest as thee,
Must in their turn, to tyrants fall,
Must in their turn, must in their turn, to tyrants fall,
While thou shalt flourish, shalt flourish great and free,
The dread and envy of them all.

(Chorus)
Rule Britannia!
Britannia rule the waves.
Britons never, never, never shall be slaves.

Still more majestic shalt thou rise,
More dreadful, from each foreign stroke,
More dreadful, more dreadful from each foreign stroke
As the loud blast that tears the skies,
Serves but to root thy native oak.

(Chorus)
Rule Britannia!
Britannia rule the waves.
Britons never, never, never shall be slaves.

Thee haughty tyrants ne'er shall tame;
All their attempts to bend thee down,
All their attempts, all their attempts to bend thee down,
Will but arouse thy generous flame,
But work their woe and thy renown.

(Chorus)
Rule Britannia!
Britannia rule the waves.
Britons never, never, never shall be slaves.

To thee belongs the rural reign,
Thy cities shall with commerce shine
Thy cities shall, thy cities shall with commerce shine
All thine shall be the subject main,
And every shore it circles thine.

(Chorus)
Rule Britannia!
Britannia rule the waves.
Britons never, never, never shall be slaves.

The Muses, still with freedom found,
Shall to thy happy coast repair,
Shall to thy happy coast, thy happy coasts repair,
Blest isle! with matchless beauty crowned,
And manly hearts to guard the fair.

Isn't the Sterling one of the strongest currencies on the world, if not the strongest? :?

Could you guys reconquer America? :-D

Look at our leaders! Isn't obvious we can't handle independence anymore! And our spelling and pronunciation of English words is terrible!

Please, all is forgiven!

I grew up saying "Zee" because I watched Sesame Street when I was little...I don't think I stopped until I was 13.

Ah.. 14th July 1776 the date we gave independence

Although it was 1783 before we actually left!

223 years later and they cant even pronounce the letter Z correctly ;) :P

How about a merger between the countries?

O say, can you see, by the dawn’s early light,
God save our gracious Queen,
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming,
Long live our noble Queen,
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, through the perilous fight,
God save the Queen:
O’er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming?
Send her victorious,
And the rockets’ red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Happy and glorious,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there;
Long to reign over us:
O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
God save the Queen.
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
