Haha, I remember when Argos was offering an LCD TV on their website and they accidentally put the price as £99.99, instead of £999.99! Of course, no-one got it for £99.99! :(

Don't they legally have to sell it for the price that they put it as? I'm sure a similar thing happened with a camera that my dad bought.

Funnily enough Dan, we were discussing this in the civil law section of the course I'm doing (it is relevant, apparently), and I think they are NOT legally bound to sell it at that price, as they were making an OFFER, but do not have to complete it.

It's unavailable online, but still on offer in stores.

However, they've sold out in loads of stores so you're lucky to get one.

They're having a new batch coming in all stores for Christmas though, apparently, the only difference being the style as silver rather than black.

EDIT: Nobody buy one from any Birmingham store, or I'll shoot you

It might be just me, but something about that post is really quite disturbing...

Guess it's not a legal obligation, then...whoever my dad bought the camera from must just be kind.

I might just buy one there for a laugh but will be remembering me bullet proof vest

They dont legally have to honour the deals anymore no but many do as a good will gesture and to not get bad press

I'd be tempted to steer clear of these cheap no-name brands myself, it may look a great offer but if it stops working before you've had it any length of time then you may as well have bought a better quality one.

True, but many people do just that but don't realise that they're the same as high-street ones.

For example, in the one I posted above - the brand "Technosonic" logo is a sticker on the front. If you peel the sticker off, the brand "Thomson" is shown. The Thomson branded version sells for £999 on their website.

Thats like Marks and spencers make food for other stores even though they say they dont, I was in Iceland once and picked up a cucumber with a M+S label on it.

I phoned up a nearby Woolworths store and they said that they don't have any in stock - but to keep checking the webpage every week because they have them in batches. E.g one week they might have 500 available on the internet.

So, just got to wait before I can buy one now

There was a silver version on sale a few hours ago on their website :o But I've just checked and they've stopped new orders now

I'll ring a few more tonight I think, just to get some different opinions too

Thanks

Erm... I think it looks TOO good to be true. But then that's just my cynical nature I suppose.
