I went to Salou a couple of years back. Port Advantura is pretty good. You should enjoy it. Reus isn't much of an airport, but Salou is a handy base for Barcelona. The trains are pretty good.

I'm back now, couldn't leave, it was really good. At Reus, we got delayed for 4 hours because the flaps on the plane wouldn't move. It got fixed, but they needed a signature from an engineer and the nearest available engineer was in Barcelona! While everyone on the Doncaster flight was delayed, the people on the Liverpool lfight were also delayed because of an accident on Liverpool Airport's runway! So the lounge was crowded.

Port Aventura was great, but the outdoor water park wasn't open.

Hi all, from wet and miserable Albufreira! I hope you´re all enjoying the games this week, and I shall be back on Sunday, arriving back in Manchester just before the first episode but should be home for the second episode. I am keeping track of the games this week so I can watch them when I get back, as all 7 I missed are being recorded. I maybe on again before Sunday, but if not, enjoy the rest of the week, and the remaining shows.

Hahaha, OK!

Just to tell you, the graffiti in Salou is very bad.

The first couple of days, we stayed in the hotel. It was very good, had three pool tables (two inside and one outside) and lots of arcade machines. It is called the Golden Avenida Park hotel.

Image

On the third day or so, I went to Port Aventura! Very good park, rate it 10/10 but you have to walk around a lot. The whole park was themed with 'HALOWEEN 06' theming such as fake spiders on the enterance, entertainers (A woman dying on a bed that wheels itself around, wierd looking people) and skeletons all over the enterances to each zone! Make sure you go on the Dragon Khan if you're a roller coaster fanatic!

Image

They had resturants all over the place reletive to the theming (China, Far West, Aztec, Polynesian Jungle and Meditteranian, which was all excellent) and I had a chinese meal in the China zone! Since the China part was based around a dragon called Khan, they were selling a meal called "Sweet and sour Khan chicken" which was basically chicken with really thick sweet and sour sauce over it. Add a large fries and a huge coke to that as well.

The rest of the park is really good with 2 more big wooden roller coasters, one of which races against another one, and a few others (El Diablo mine train and Tami Tami junior coaster)

The days after were basically going back to the park again (2 day ticket, never knew it was consecutive) and the day was boiling hot, so we went on some more water rides, one was a huge splashboat ride called the Tutuki splash. You go around a wide channel in a large splashboat (Long boat with large rows of seats going back about 5 times) and go inside a tunnel. When you come out, there is a small drop going out of it, and on that you get totally drenched. That wasn't a good omen, because if a little drop like that gets you soaked, the huge drop at the end can only be worse. So then you go around, up a huge conveyor belt leading to the top of the mountain, and then you do a 180* turn and go down the huge drop. The lift is shallow, and gives you an opportunity to see another boat meet its watery demise. Lets just say it took 2 hours for me to get a little bit dry. And as you travel to the station, there is a little walkway going over the ride with water guns pointing at us, and people put money in them and they shoot water for about 2 minutes at people on the boats! The reactions were either people covering themselves, putting a hood up, sticking up their fingers, pointing at someone else, or just enjoying the water!

Image

The rapids is good as well.

Image

They also have the water guns spraying at you!

For the other days, it was either going out to the City center (or Town center) or stay in the hotel (the pool was freezing with it's jacuzzi, good job there is an indoor pool with a hot jaccuzi and a slightly cold pool)

Yeah, couldn't leave it! And I had the most depressing song in my head, never helped (Spice Girls - Goodbye).
