For everyone thats into football whatb would be the best match you've ever been to.

Internationally - The 7th Septembe@ Windsor Park Northern Ireland 1- 0 England. The atmosphere was electric I was sitting in teh Kop stand with half of teh Linfield boys cheering on Northern Ireland. Sir David Healy's goal was fantastic

Domesticallly - Irish Cup Final 2006 - Linfield 2-1 Glentoran. sitting in the Kop again brilliant. Linfiel went 1 nil down from a Michael Halliday goal then just before half time Pete scored a fantastic strike from 20 yards. then just after half time Pete scored another cracking goal from Macker's corner. That gave Linfield the Domestic Clean Sweep & their first win against Glentoran in an Irish Cup final in over 63 years. Even though my Jamie didnt even get on the bench it was stilla good match.

The proudest I have ever been at a match was the Irish Cup S/F when Jamie got named Man Of The Match & was given the match ball & a bottle of champagne. I was well proud of him even though he didnt score

Without a doubt the one in my signature!

I was lucky enough to be in the Attaturk Stadium on that fantastic night when we won our 5th European Cup. Words can't describe how good it felt to be a Liverpool supporter on that night. I'm only 19 and had to read and listen to the stories of old, when Liverpool used to rule Europe and England. To experience the greatest night in our history was unbelievable. I missed an A-Level exam to go there but it was worth it.

My third and second favourite games ever are:

Liverpool 5 Alaves 4 (aet)

Liverpool 3 AC Milan 3 (Liverpool win on penalties)

Both excellent games to watch, this years FA Cup Final is up there too (they always seem to involve the 'Pool), but the best game I've ever seen, and don't laugh at me for this is:

Leeds United 2 Swindon Town 2 (Leeds Utd win on penalties)

I was in the stands for this game, Swindon went 2-0 up, and everyone thought the game was over. Time was running out and everyone thought that was that until Leeds pulled a goal back. Despite this they were still struggling to find a way through. In stoppage time Leeds's then-keeper Paul Robinson came up for a corner and headed home the equaliser. The atmosphere was unbelievable! A keeper had scored in the dying stages of the game!

Anyway, after a nervy 30 minutes of extra time, the inevitable penalty shootout occurred. I was with my friends almost directly behind the goal they were shooting at so I felt right at the centre of things. Anyway, Robinson did the business with a couple of smart saves and Leeds were through to the next round of the cup!

It was such a great feeling to be part of it, and Leeds are only my second team!!

Don't laugh, but I'll probably go for...

Dover Athletic 1 - 2 Bognor Regis Town
(FA Cup 1st Qualifying Round 1995/96)

I'm often asked which team I support and people generally don't understand when I reply 'Bognor Regis Town' and then ask me 'Which proper team do you support?'. Grrr. I grew up there. No real difference to someone from Liverpool supporting Liverpool or someone from North London supporting Arsenal. We'll never make it to the Football League (we're two divisions below) and I probably wouldn't want us to. At non-league football (generally) you can stand where you like, change ends at half time, drink beer on the terraces etc. The atmosphere is friendly, not hostile, and I wouldn't want to give any of that up.

Why this match? In 1995, we were playing in the old Isthmian League Division 1, Dover Athletic were in the Conference (two leagues higher). The previous season we had just escaped relegation on the penultimate game of the season, Dover had proved themselves to be one of the best non-league teams in the country. We shouldn't have had a chance...

After two minutes, a defensive error (like so much of the season before) gifted Dover a goal and a cricket score seemed likely. What followed was nothing short of remarkable. The no-hopers from the season before then proceeded to outpass, outplay and outfight their supposed superior opposition. I had never witnessed such a turnaround. The victory was fully deserved and set the wheels in motion for an FA Cup run that took us to within 90 minutes of playing the likes of Man Utd and Liverpool but that was eventually ended in a thrashing at Peterborough. The Dover manager was sacked later in the week, to be replaced by a certain Peter Taylor (now at Crystal Palace).

Ah, great memories. Support your local team! :-D

I [of course - check the date] wasn't there but...

Newcastle Utd 1
SUNDERLAND 9
4/12/1908
Division One

HIGHEST EVER AWAY WIN IN TOP FLIGHT HISTORY!

Sunderland actually declared with 16 minutes to play.

For when I was actually at a game...

Sunderland 7 Oxford Utd 0 back in the First Division/Championship in 1999. Do I need to explain?

As a Brighton fan the best games I have been to were:

Swindon Town Play off Semi Final 2nd Leg when we grabbed an injury time equaliser in extra time and then went on to win the shootout.
The Play-Off Final which followed was a memorable day and to win 1-0 was superb.

I have only ever been to two football games in my entire life, though that is probably two more than quite a few people on this forum.

One was August Bank Holiday Monday 2000 when I saw Preston NE at home against Wimbledon in a game that finished 1-1, and my second game oddly enough was the following August Bank Holiday Monday 2001 when once again I was at Deepdale to see my beloved Wimbledon still only manage a 1-1 draw.

Therefore, I don't think I'm really qualified to answer this question!

NEXT!

Shrewsbury v Aldershot - Confrence Playoff Final 2004 in the Britannia Stadium

20,000 shrews turned up and the atmosphere was brilliant

To make it better we won it on penalties

Peterborough United 2-4 Newcaste United

The mighty Posh came from 2-0 down to tie the game and hope for a replay. Farrell scored a wonder goal and the atmosphere was amazing. Unlike the ref who gave Newcaste a soft penalty which Shearer converted and then some other bugger scored just before full time :(

Peterborough United 1-0 Darlington, Division 3 playoff final 99/00 at Wembley

'nuff said.

Peterborough United 1-0 Arsenal

It was a preseason friendly, but Arsenal still brought some big names. Big names they may have been, but they were no Francis Green.

There's been loads of great Posh games that I've seen. 9-1 away at Brentford, 6-0 at home to Wrexham, 2-0 away at Bournemouth, Marc Joseph got sent off after 44 minutes and I won a months free pass at a Fitness First gym. And of course the Posh v Cambridge Utd matches of days gone by.

Wow, Mental Mickey, I've been to precisely two matches too! One was Weymouth v Yate Town (*shudders*) in the now-defunct Dr Martens League Eastern Division in... must have been 1995. It was a frozen January day and my brother's primary school had a huge bundle of tickets to give away, and that's why I went. So cold we left at half-time, but we'd seen Neil Housley score what proved to be the winner in the first ten minutes and apparently missed a flurry of yellow cards and not a lot else :D

The other one I've been to was Dorchester Town v Chelsea Reserves last summer. That was a testimonial for a Dorchester defender, but I went with Mum who's a Chelsea fan largely hoping to spot some future stars. Swiss left-back Jonas Elmer stood out a mile to both of us, though Jimmy Smith got two from midfield I think and played well also. It finished 4-0, though Dorchester got some dignity back with a penalty save at the very end!

Best game I've seen on the TV is probably Liverpool v AC Milan... no wait, I didn't see all of that, I gave up at 2-0 and was on the PC, then was called upstairs just before Gerrard made it 3-1 and suddenly watched again...

I dislike Posh v Cobblers matches. Mainly because the Cobblers seem to outplay us all the time :(
