Time to go into dodgy territory and get political! I'm just interested to know what people's opinions are politically, following the recent parliamentary collapse that the media are enjoying all too well. Quite simple; if a general election was called tomorrow, who would you be supporting?

Definitely Labour.

They have their faults and have made mistakes but I'd much rather see them in power than David Cameron and the Conservatives. I think David Cameron is like a worse version of Tony Blair, and I didn't think a lot of Blair.

Gordon Brown isn't a bad Prime Minister, and I think he's had a lot of unfair bad publicity. He's had to guide the country through some tricky situations recently, none of which have directly been his fault.

Voting for the Liberal Democrats is a wasted vote really, as they're extremely unlikely to get into power.

Whats the point? I think I'd vote for Rolf Harris over anyone standing for anything...

Rolf Harris would probably stand more chance of getting in than the Liberal Democrats, so I may consider voting for him if he stands.

Well to be fair Boris Johnson was funny and he's actually turned out alright from what I've heard... but the Lib Dems are a big party round here for some reason and us rurals seem to like to vote for them...

I'd go Conservative but I think Parliament has had it's day really... no one trusts any MP, everyone is always against the PM and they just seem to piss our money up the wall...

Not quite sure what the alternatives are though - give the power back to the Royals? Run the country by text vote?

They will never get into power if people dont vote for them because they're unlikely to get in! :-D It's that kind of thinking that has kept Labour in power, in my opinion. Under the Welsh Assembly here in Wales, Labour has lost its majority and is going towards Lib Dem. It always has been Lib Dem for me. It's about time the country had a different party at its helm!

I'd vote for Labour, I don't think change is what we need at the moment.

I think we definitely need a change, just like we did in 1997. Having the same party in charge for more than a decade is too long really, unless things are going really well (and when is that the case with any government?)

Although I do think that this would be a good idea. I'm sure H would agree with me.

They'd probably do a better job than Blair did.

I remember a poll from a few years ago which suggested that about 40% of people would vote for the Lib Dems if they thought they had a chance of winning, which proves Clare's point entirely!

As for me, I really don't know who I'd vote for. I'm definitely more of a socialist than a capitalist but, in terms of policy, there seems to be so little to choose between the two main parties these days as they both seem to now inhabit the 'centre' of the political spectrum in an attempt to appeal to as broad range of voters as possible, and their traditional ideologies are slowly being eroded away.

I have no idea who I want in charge of our country... are the Raving Looney Party still about???

I was just discussing these kind of matters with camp Steve yesterday and we were saying how as times get harder more and more people will turn to the BNP, also the BNP are targeting our teenayers and young adults, Steve said one boy he knows is voting BNP at local elections yet couldnt tell Steve what any of their policys are... I think in the future BNP will come a threat and maybe even a contender... good job we are soooo multicultural as they would never get the votes needed (I hope). I know a woman round here who is actually a member of the BNP... she has actually paid a membership fee... how dedicated to racism must u be eh... and the thing is she is quite dark... looks rather spanishy or similar... so if she is fully English then I'm Pamela Anderson.

In my local elections I am voting Conservative... only because my local MP, Charles Walker, has done alot for me and my David, he even changed his agenda one day to go to Parliament to fight the Autism Bill and then sent me the Hansard (basically a book of what went on that day... was a boring but great read). He is also coming to a support group I help run (after I asked him too... said yes straight away) to see what we do and to see if he can help in any way.

So all in all Maud probably wont vote in the big elections... unless someone wins me over.

They are all as bad as each other. The English Democrats were persuasive yesterday, but I don't really care.

As my mum said, people generally have short memories when it comes to politics...

For me, it must be Jeremy Clarkson.

Unfortunately, I had the misfortune to accidentally click, "Liberal Democrats". I was supposed to click other.

In terms of a whole party, I would vote for UKIP. Or the BNP.

A few of us who were once part of the furniture, once stalwarts of the grand and extravagant, exuberant and thriving forum, have receded back into the walls, still faintly visible, still here as poignant, reminding relics of an era gone by; but most of us have vanished, forever immersed in the mists of time.

You can't even vote and I doubt you're even aware of any of their policies anyway,

I would support 'other'. Noel Edmonds should run the country assisted by Mr Blobby.

I think that the Conservatives would be a better party in the good times as they will hopefully fix the roof while the sun is shining (in other words be responsible with money, reduce the debt burden and not allow spending to spiral out of control like what Labour has done over the past 12 years). Hopefully get rid of the planned N.I increase of 0.5% for incomes above £20,000.
