Anyone else betting on this....since dond is a gambling show, and folks are fond of their stats, i can imagine a few will be having a flutter or two me? never bet in my life, with the exception of a lucky dip in the lottery when i can be bothered.

but this morning i just placed my first bet ever....after last year i picked comply or die in the work sweep, and was overjoyed since i'd heard good things about it that very morning (from John mccririck no less ). on the day of the race, i was sitting in the car waiting for the folks, outside a crowded bookies, just willing myself to go in, but chickened out as i thought i would be too intimidated since i'd no idea what to do! just a tenner is all i would've done. and it would've netted me £70. dammit. (but i did win £25 in the work thing!)

so this time round i thought i have to do it, what the hell. though £20 is not peanuts to me, and i will bloody well miss it in a weeks time should it not pay off, i guess its just one of those silly things i always slag off deal players saying "i just KNOW!!", but sometimes a feeling might mean something rubbish i know, but It certainly did last year, to my disgust

anyway. i went a fiver each way on comply or die, and the same on black apachi. i cant wait for saturday...though i may be too nervous to actually watch. i might have an accident!

I dont know who I'm backing. I'd like it to be Butlers Cabin so that McCoy can get a National win though.


Oh and I havent got round to making a bet yet. Although I should, in a tipping competition on one of the betting websites I am 3rd in the World at the moment... £150 up on Sols as well

Well davey, get your bet on then? Comply or die in second, put a fiver on each way, not a massive win of course but not bad for a first attempt;-) well chuffed indeed. My other one, black apalachi, was leading over half way, then threw his jockey. Drat. Dont think I'll be making a habit of this, my heart!! Not to mention my nerves!

but it is! albeit you're not putting your own money on the table (with the exception of those who've quit their jobs to go on the show/or are self-employed), but there's certainly gambling involved-Alice being a prime example....am not too familiar with KP's view on this....will i get my 'arris kicked?
