Not the most exciting of topics.

But does anyone have any advice on what the best make of DVD disc is? I'd want re-writable ones (RW) but it doesn't matter if they're "+" or "-". You can buy individual ones for about £1 each, but there are ones available for as little as about 10p each.

I'm looking for some reasonably cheap ones which are reliable basically!

Any PC shop, but they're costly...Tesco do them cheap, last time I checked!

There's a re-run of One Foot In The Grave that I want to record and keep forever.

Verbatim are a reliable make if you are after something that isn't really hit or miss that is needed for a "must have" one-off live type recording.

Not sure how many discs you need and how quickly, but a quick search on Ebay brings up the following which you can get 25 discs for about £13, or 10 discs for about £6.50 delivered.

http://shop.ebay.co.uk/items/__verbatim ... pZ1QQ_scZ1

If you have a staples nearby and need them quicker they have the same ones for £18.99 http://www.staples.co.uk/ENG/Catalog/ca ... xedcode=WW

Or if you have a PC World nearby they do the same ones for £14.99 http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/store/ ... oid=-24870

:D

Thanks for that Kes!

I need them quite soon so probably won't rely on eBay for this. I see they also sell the 25 pack of Verbatim RW discs in WH Smith for £17.61 (not sure why there's such a range between PC World, Smiths and Staples! :ponder: ). I've got some WH Smith vouchers to spend from Christmas, so it'd make sense to buy them from there as I don't often buy stuff from Smiths so it'd be a good way to use the vouchers!!

Verbatim +RW are the ones i'm currently using for various DVD recordings and they pretty reliable. Looking back at a couple of recordings I first made onto a Verbatim DVD over a year ago and they still work ok.

But, like Kestral said, Verbatim are a recommended brand and are most probably one of the most reliable ones around (i've seen that brand name mentioned a few times before when I was searching for DVDs). Plus out of all the blank DVD's i've brought in the past Verbatim are the only ones that come with a lifetime warranty.
