In the initial announcement, I wrote: As you may have noticed, the last game of 3.3 got abandoned mid-game. A laptop issue is the culprit, and not everything was saved. Fortunately, I already had a vague idea of maybe doing a Series 4, based upon Aaron's Season 5 twist expansion. With a new laptop acquired, it's time to change EVERYTHING... AGAIN.
KP's Series 4.0 is to undergo playtesting during the remainder of January 2020, with a live launch likely by early February. All games use the same 24-box board, using the UK amounts plus £25 and £150,000 (the same as the later "Purpliser" Series 2 games). As such, "Box 23" is "Box 25." A pregame twist draw from The Configurator produces a choice of four options for each of four gameplay aspects: - Player powers:
- Booster Bids - the player receives two predictions and can use them at any time before 5-box. One increases all non-jackpot reds left on the board by 20% minus the error margin, the other increases the final winnings after Box 25 by 10% minus the error margin. These can be used in either order.
- One-derland - all 0s on the starting board become 1s. For instance, £15,000 becomes £15,111, 50p becomes 51p, and £100,000 becomes £111,111.
- Spin the Wheel - the player spins a bonus wheel at the end of their game (after Box 25) to add to their winnings. There are 24 wedges on the wheel; 12 contain prizes ranging in value from a £6 bat soft toy to a £26,495 Renault Zoe, while the other 12 contain percentage cash increases from 2.5% to 100%.
- Take Control - the player gets one opportunity (at any point of their choosing) to make an offer to the Banker instead of vice versa, plus one opportunity to counter a Banker's offer.
- Banker powers:
- Double 99 - two random non-jackpot reds (of which exactly one is £35,000 or higher) are reduced by 99%. This takes place after any effects from One-derland, and values round to the nearest penny in the event of this combination; for instance, £111,111 becomes £1,111.11.
- I'll Finish This - the Banker, not the player, decides whether or not Box 25 is purchased.
- No All-Blues - if the player has an all-blue round with three or more boxes, one random non-jackpot red is reduced in value to the highest blue taken out in that round. This only applies to rounds that begin at or before 9-box.
- Peekaboo - the Banker looks in two boxes on the wings (not the box on the table). The player is told one of the two boxes that have been peeked.
- Offer patterns:
- Swedish - 6-5-4-3-2-1-1. This produces offers at 18-, 13-, 9-, 6-, 4-, 3-, and 2-box.
- Extended UK - 5-3-3-3-3-3-2. This produces offers at 19-, 16-, 13-, 10-, 7-, 4-, and 2-box.
- Kytlerian - 5-5-3-3-2-2-1-1. This produces offers at 19-, 14-, 11-, 8-, 6-, 4-, 3-, and 2-box. This pattern is named after the KP forum fantasy series that uses it.
- Banker's Choice - the Banker makes seven offers. The first of these is at 18-box. The other six can be at any point, but the sum of the number of boxes remaining at all six offer points must not exceed 40. For instance, the Banker would not be allowed to make offers at 12-, 9-, 8-, 7-, 4-, and 2-box, because 12+9+8+7+4+2 = 41. One of the offers would have to be one box earlier, e.g. replacing the 12-box offer with an 11-box offer. Additionally, the Banker cannot use an identical offer pattern in two consecutive Banker's Choice games. The player offer in Take Control is separate to the Banker's offers.
- Money menus (for Box 25):
- Classic UK - DOUBLE/+£10,000/MONEY BACK/HALF/NOTHING.
- The cfd - +£5,000/+£3,000/+£1,000/-£2,000/-£4,000. Negative wins become NOTHING.
- Risk/Reward - TRIPLE/DOUBLE/HALF/QUARTER/NOTHING.
- Draft Mode - The player receives a choice of two pairs of options (one positive, one negative) to add to the money menu. After selecting one of these, they then receive a choice of two sets of three options, including both a positive and a negative option. Again, one set is chosen for the money menu to produce a total of five options.
A new offer formula will be created, based on analysis of Series 2 and Series 3 games, with the aim of producing the most interesting possible gameplay. As with Series 3, there may be updates to the list of twists and/or the offer formula that necessitate an update to Series 4.1, 4.2, etc.
