The Banker said he was to expect something like that, but you surely have to expect one of these shifts to go against you, and he's got his two...

BANKER'S OFFER

£43,000

It's so hard to know what generosity to look for here with that power-up combo.

I feel like I might have to go one at a time from here just to see the evolution, but NO DEAL to this. First up is 13.

Let's see how we go then, one at a time from 11-box...

13 - £250,000! Ah...

Button or box?

The Banker knows you want the safe exit before the downwards spiral, so of course that has to be on the table...

BANKER'S OFFER

£37,000

... but also, how about this...

BANKER'S OFFER

5% LIVE PLAY CASH-OUT

He'll let you take 5% of that cash offer - £1,850 - out of the game right now. That's in the bank, and it can't go on Box 23. But you can continue on in live play, and you can keep 95% of whatever you win from the main game...

Two boxes away from 8-box and he has his two Downshifts to hand... but how useful can they be for him at this stage?

That's a fascinating mechanic and I can't wait to see more use of it!

Not taking advantage of it here though. Every dimension points to just taking the flat offer, including and perhaps especially that 23 - yes it has a 1/4 bailout shot of immense proportions, but you don't want to rely on that. DEAL £37,000.

15 and 19 next. Shift 10 is double 2.

Alrighty! £37,000 is yours, might not be the only time for shenanigans tonight!

15 - 85p...

19 - £64,000! Would've been risky business here!

Shift 10 would've brought in £77,777 in place of £90,000...

BANKER'S OFFER
WOULD'VE BEEN

£17,249 & NO DOWNSIDE BOX 23

Just the two box rounds now, so I'll open those first two...

11 - £7 we'd have needed!

7 - £77,777! Biiiig one box game now...

... and Shift 11 would've helped a little bit, £17,250 going up to £25,000...

BANKER'S OFFER
WOULD'VE BEEN

£31,100

... and now we'd have needed two more boxes!

... and £250 down to £49! You'd have survived it!!

18p / £49 / £99 / £500,000...

BANKER'S OFFER
WOULD'VE BEEN

£49,099.85

One round to go...

    122% (£45,140)
    +£43,000 (£80,000)

    -£21,500 (£15,500)
    82% (£30,340)

A 1 in 4 shot at a massive £80k here but the others are relatively low stakes in comparison...

... would you like to buy Box 23, Deal or No Deal?

When I dealt I did so thinking that this was a 23 I could buy at this stake level. And I still can. DEAL. 3.

Alriiiight! £37,000 is no longer yours, and instead...

82% (£30,340)
+£43,000 (£80,000)
-£21,500 (£15,500)
122% (£45,140)

... you're denied a Power 5 win! An annoying end, but you saved yourself a very painful drawn out game for something that probably would've given you a very similar result until the twentieth box! Thanks for playing!
