I just read channel 5 have got the deal to show neighbours, it starts next year.

A bit gutted if I'm honest, and I bet the BBC are. Just won't be the same on another channel, Neighbours has its rightful home on the BBC.

It'll have adverts on Channel Five too...

i wont be able to watch, i cant get channel 5, i kind of hope it fails on channel 5 they might move it back

Yeah I was abit gutted about it too, I love Neighbours, it mightened get enough fans when it moves to Channel 5

No idea... maybe a move for DOND is in the pipeline? (Hope not, as the top prize would probably be about £10,000...)

I guess they just couldn't justify a big increase in the cost of it when viewing figures are a long way down on the old days. It doesn't even make the BBC1 top 30 these days (although they don't combine figures for the repeat showings).

the reason why it changed to five, is because the company that make neighbours wanted £100,000 for each episode, the BBC currently get it for £25,000 per episode. the BBC were not prepared to pay that much
