Anyone else watching this? I probably shouldn't admit it but I absolutely *beep* love it...it's so much better than The X Factor or anything else like that. And now Claudia Winkleman is presenting it, it's even better!

No, you shouldn't admit it! Which 'celebrities' are in it this year?

Claudia Winkleman is awesome.

I'm not watching the show but I hope that Ray Stubbs wins, simply because the idea of Ray Stubbs standing on stage and singing makes me laugh.

I loooooooove Fame Academy. The first series, and the first Comic Relief one they did (with DOON MACKICHAN, officially the best person ever) are like DOND from March '06 to me...I'm so glad it's back. I even went to see the tour of the first one when I was about 13.

I don't like that one of them is voted off immediately, though...I want them all to stay! But I guess I'll have to choose Tim Vine or that Scottish guy.

No, put on your whittle mask...

I love Fame Academy, I was gutted when the BBC dropped the original series.. There were some awesome singers on the first two series.

Shaun Williamson & Tricia Penrose were by far the 2 best singers of this evening and should stay in :D

For anyone not familiar with Whittle, it was an ultra-low budget quiz show that Tim Vine hosted in the very early days of Channel 5 - the idea being to "whittle" 100 contestants - who also formed (part of/all of?) the audience - down to one winner, through a series of multiple choice questions.

The top prize was a blue-tastic £500 (this was the pre-Millionaire era remember) and the show was full of corny catchphrases and Whiteleyesque puns (Tim Vine for next Countdown host - the campaign starts here!) Those getting a question wrong were knocked out and had to wear a "Whittle mask", they also had the "four to follow" who they had selected at the start as the most likely winners, and invariably did really crap. One of the memories of my student days!

Some of them really were terrible tonight  but at least they were slightly entertaining.

Of course, Whittle was just Everybody's Equal with masks. Funny that this has been mentioned as it's been up for discussion on Bother's Bar this week, complete with youtube video of Chris Tarrant pre-Millionaire.

Now I think about it, it was like a *beep* 1 vs 100 wasn't it?

In money terms yes, much more entertaining though!

Ogh I *beep* love Fame Academy.

I predict:

Bottom three - Linda, Tim, Miranda

Judges save Linda (even though she was *beep* *beep*...they like her)

Students save Tim

Miranda goes. She's sweet but really, really crap. I'd rather someone boring like Shaun or Tricia went, though. (Yeah I know they're the best singers...but that isn't really the point...)

Two out of three ain't bad...and I predicted the right person to go. Poor Miranda...she was *beep* rubbish and absolutely deserved to go, but I still loved her.

I'm now addicted to the live streaming on BBCi...I fear that I may have to quit school so I can just sit at home and watch them rehearsing all day. And I'm also in love with Angellica.

Fame Academy is the best thing ever. *cough*evenbetterthandond*cough*
