Every favourite costs a point

Pokerface = 12
Millionaire = 3
Weakest Link = 1
Sale Of The Century = 1
Take It Or Leave It = 1
3-2-1 = 1
Bullseye = 1
In The Grid = 1

SOTC - It's the quiz of the week!

Well for a start I wouldn't call DoND a quiz show....

I'm going to have to pick 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire' as my favourite. I still get tingles down my spine when a player I like wins chunky money.

There's quite a few good ones!

The Weakest Link, its a bit boring now after all the shows that have been done.
Mastermind, probably the first quiz show but has been done to death now.
Test the Nation, the IQ one's were the best but now its a bit boring with all the music and entertainment quizzes.
Millionaire has a very good format but again has become boring after 5 millionaires.
University challenge, I'd probably find enjoyable if I understood the questions.

So Pokerface wins it for me! A great format, a great game to play in the chatroom and to play at home!

I used to love Sale of the Century in its day, and I'm a bit embarrased to
admit it but I enjoyed 3-2-1, remember dusty bin? :)

I like Millionaire, and there is a good new one on Challenge which I think is called Take it or leave it. :D

The old versions of Bullseye were great. Jim Bowen was the master in revealing 'Look at what you could have won' at the end of the show, which usually turned out to be something like a speedboat, which is a fat lot of good if you live in Milton Keynes or somewhere...

Pokerface.

DOND isn't a quiz show IMO, more like a game show.

Definitely Pokerface. Has me shouting at the TV even more than DOND does.

Yeah, I'm a fan of Pokerface too, but I also liked In The Grid (which is now sadly not showing on five any more). It was great to see Les Dennis back on TV again. I used to love joining in with the opening bits on each show:

"Hidden somewhere in this grid are thousands of pounds in cold hard cash, as well as some hidden hazards. To win big tonight, one of our contestants must hold their nerve, avoid the traps and find the money that waits...In The Grid"

Remember when I said I made my own games of DOND? Yes, you guessed it, I made a card version of In The Grid, too! I made notes of all the cash values (for the gold squares) and the percentages of the Bonuses, Steals and Penalties and wrote them onto bits of card. I then take so many of each card (for example, 5 Cash, 3 Bonuses, 2 Steals, 5 Penalties, and the 1 Bankrupt), shuffle them up, then lay them randomly on the table (so there's no way anyone can know what's on each card) and play the game as normal.

I remember in the 90s there use to be quite a few good quiz shows shown at 9:25am on ITV and the ones on BBC shown mid-morning, lunchtime or early afternoon

At the moment I do not have a favourite quiz show

Favourite quiz show? Still has to be Millionaire, though a properly-executed 1 vs 100 (i.e. a straight port of the Dutch version and no ex-DoND contestants) would be even better.

Because DoND has become so much worse now, by implication Millionaire is my favourite game show too.

I'm going to go for Pokerface - I just love the contestants on it - especially the cocky ones!! :-D ;)

But in all seriousness I think its a great format - I'd never applied for a gameshow before but having seen Series 1 I knew I had to be on it. Luckily the producers agreed.

A fantastic experience, and a great show, which will live with me forever.

DOND is a game show, so in that case I have no favourite quiz shows.
Gameshows are much better.
