Anyone remember this surreal puppet kids program? Bagpuss and fingerbobs were heartwarming, whereas potty time was like an acid flashback...

Yeah the puppets were no more than about 12" tall and you never saw their eyes as they always wore silly hats and Michael Bentine did the voices for all of them.

The puppets looked like huge gonks to be quite honest... Do u remember the craze for them in the 70's?

I remember many crazes, to be honest, Cazza. If you can remember the 70's you weren't really there is something that has been said to me as if it is an axiom of life.
Many thanks for your answer.

Next question: Bagpuss!

Discuss Bagpuss, 100 words or less only. 30mins limit.

Surreal!

Saggy cloth cat. Baggy and a bit loose at the seams but Emily loved him.

The mice were ornaments on the mouse organ. One called was Charlie & one Jessica. They used to sing & there were 3 males and females.

Gabrielle was a banjo playing toad and Madeline was a rag dog with a dtripey dress who sang.

Professor Yaffle was a carved wooden bookend in the shape of a bookend.

They always mended the impossible unmendable things including a ship in a bottle.

I think Michael Bentine must have written potty time whilst he was on something as it was so surreal!
