I hate most songs by Slipknot (same with any other death or black metal band). Seriously, it sounds more like they're trying to vomit out their heart than sing

Also, i DESPISE of the metalheads who go out of their way to brag about how bands like that are the ONLY real music in the world and how EVERYTHING else sucks. To them, music consists of 2 genres - Metal and Everything Else

It hurts me to say this, but i think metalheads (not all of them) are just as bad as Beliebers and Directioners at times, with all their delusional hipstery whining about a band not being good anymore when/if they start getting popular, petty arguing over metal 'Sub-genres', and even going out of their way to comment on non-metal music videos and leaving stupid comments on pop, rap, electronica and basically ANY non-metal music video, like "Why is this (BLEEP) more popular than REAL music like Slipknot, Slayer...Or any other metal band that sounds like they vomit instead of sing"

That's interesting, and I agree with you on it...as a fan of metal myself, I'm not sure I understand why some people take it as if it's a life-or-death thing. It's music - if you like it, great, if you don't, there's something else out there for you...

I like Metallica, but I also like Mahler...I like Scott Joplin just as much as I like Black Sabbath...I like a bit of Oasis and a touch of Sinatra, a smattering of Elvis very occasionally and a lot of Jean Michel Jarre...the only sort of music I don't like much is pop music or rap, and sadly for people like me, those seem to be the two most prevalent genres nowadays. Tables will turn again, though, which is something a lot of people don't understand...

I was watching Kerrang this morning and they had a cover of Gangstas Paradise on there. It was by some band called Falling in Reverse.
Good grief, it was one of the WORST covers I've ever heard!

Falling In Reverse are terrible even on their own merits so them covering Coolio is going to come off worse than Duran Duran covering Public Enemy's 911 Is A Joke. Which actually happened.

Pop music isn't REALLY a genre on its own. It may have a bit of a bad rep these days but it has always meant what it stands for - music that is popular. The Beatles, Queen, Bowie, all of them were at one point in pop music. It's just that the manufactured thing to go for these days is lackluster house-lite with half-hearted RnB/rap touches.

If anything, the thing I miss most about music back in the 90s was that it was really varied. The Top 40 back then had something for everyone, Britpop meant we had a lot more rock influence, also trance was at its peak, we were getting genres like big beat and break beat that you just don't GET now. Yeah, there were clunkers, but that's music, there's going to be. Now, it's completely homogenised. It's 40 tracks that are all variants on the same theme that America got tired of two months ago.

I think there are a lot of talented artists today, but sadly, their true talent is being buried in the music industry's obsession with money, images, publicity, Autotune, drum machines, synth and using the same beats over and over

Taylor Swift's new one, Shake It Off. It sounds just like one of her earlier hits, can't remember which one. Most of her music is rubbish actually.

I usually loathe songs that are designed to 'diss tracks' aimed towards the 'haters' of the artist, and i'm not too fond on this song either

No doubt 'Shake It Off' marks the completion in Taylor Swift's transition from country to pop, the way it's going, i'd say the next stage will be her collaborating with generic (c)rappers like Pitbull, Juicy J, Lil Wayne etc.

What are you? A metalhead who expects to see a top 10 consisting 10 death metal songs by Slipknot that sound like grunting and vomiting instead of singing?

I kind of have a love-hate relationship with 'All about that bass'. I know it's supposed to make larger people feel more confident, but i just don't like how it disses skinny people the way it does

No. I don't like all Slipknot. Don't listen to "Pulse of the Maggots" it's HORRIBLE!

I'm also not saying I want a top 10 of only metal. I'd love to see more indie and rock in the chart rather than the generic pop crap we have these days.

I love the naivety of 'well, you don't like plasticy pop, you must like solid walls of noise', like there isn't a massive middle ground of stuff that actually is quite good.

Still waiting for Glen Check and Idiotape to release things over here, but for that to happen I'd be crossing my fingers so hard they'd snap off.
