I'm sure most people hate TV ads but when you end up watching so many of them you get to like some and in most cases hate them.

So what's everyone's favourite & worst TV ad?

BEST

1. The Cadbury's gorilla ad is one of my faves

2. Also the Sony Bravia TV one is quite good as well

I'm sure there's more but I can think of more worse ones than good.

WORST

1. Diamond - women's car insurance - "if you're looking for cheaper car insurance Diamond is a girls best friendddd!!!!! Argh i've got the annoying tune in my head

2. Sheila's Wheels - women's car insurance (again) - Sheila's Wheels are superstars.....

3. DFS Sofa's - They just annoy me.

4. Stairlift ad's - Again just annoying.

5. Home/car/life/I need a loan/Compensation ads etc - Again cheap annoying adverts.

Hastings Direct - I preferred the old ad with the songs

The new ads with Take That in them, CRINGE!!!

Don't have any favourites.

My least favourites...

The Norwich Union advert from a few years back with the man showing off on the tightrope

"They make vegetarian lamb? That's amazing!"

Vauxhall adverts with the kids on the beach

Any ringtone adverts

The head and shoulders one - "There's the fluffy puppy. Windswept and interesting!"...

The old Cancer Research advert that played Fields of Gold and showed people's parents disappearing. That was just... depressing.

I'm sure I'll think of others.

That advert made me think "WTF?" when I first saw it the other day... it's actually quite scary. Is there a link between gorillas, Cadbury Dairy Milk and Phil Collins?!!!

Yeah I don't understand myself why Phil Collins + fake gorilla = Cadbury's. Maybe gorillas like chocolate and Phil Collins :?

You know it's not a real Gorilla dont you, I saw an interview with the man that plays the Gorilla.

The reason for it is because it makes us talk about it and while we are talking about we will mention Cadbury, GENIUS.

I can imagine the marketing directors at Cadbury having a meeting and all of them saying "I know, let's do an advert where we have a gorilla playing drums whilst one of Phil Collins' hits plays in the background!".

Very clever.

This is a good chance to plug my youtube video I've done, of adverts from my own collection spanning 1990 to 1999:

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=5mDo6cfzMmU

Recent ones I've loved are the Sony one with the rabbits, the Vodafone one with that guy trying to get to that girl but the film breaking and him returning to his office (it's hard to explain), the gorilla drumming, and the AA one where they all sing You've Got a Friend!

There's some stinkers around, though, if I see that pet one with 'True Colours' one more time I'll implode my TV, does it have to be played in EVERY ad-break?

I don't know if this is shown nationwide but the Safestyle adverts have to positively be the worst adverts ever.

The best one is then...

Woman: He spilt wine on his best shirt
Man: (Looking docile) Its me best shirt.

That cracks me up...

I quite like the current Norwich Union ads with the people doing stupid things and the music that goes with it...

There's too many awful ones to think of a worst... in fact adverts are mostly lost on me, I just wander off to the computer or to make a coffee or something, or fast forward if it's something I've recorded!

I do quite like the Skoda one with the car made of cake though (probably goes faster than a regular Skoda...) and of course the legend that is Barry Scott...

I'm so surprised Billy or me for that matter, remembered to mention the legendary Cillit Bang ad!

Hi Pe...I mean, Bang, and the dirt is gone! :-D

That reminds me of my geography teacher at school. He had a Skoda and he was from the North, so we took the piss out of him at every given opportunity... and he took the piss out of us "Southern softies" in return.

But yes, that Skoda advert is great! Also the ones where they can't believe it realy is a Skoda. And the other car adverts where they think the price is wrong and run away (what make was that for?!).
